Other regionals' upgrade times are coming down, reducing the "upgrade carrot" incentive. Mesa will eventually have to do something to be competitive.
Well said. Within the last 18 months we've seen upgrade times fall pretty much across the board at most regionals, combine that with the new TAs voted in at other regionals which include things like much higher FO pay, 10k-15k sign on bonuses, flow to mainline, paid hotels for commuters, nicer hotels on overnights, etc...and you can see how Mesa has fallen behind. There is no allure now that the fast upgrade is gone.

Well if the upgrade train stops, what other reason would they have to stay? Honestly, unless you live in Phoenix, I have no idea why anyone would want to work for Mesa until they improve their contract. Even that reason is pretty suspect. How long would it take a new hire to hold PHX?

Bro, we have other domiciles besides PHX and to answer your question: forever. And then after forever you will be on reserve forever. And if the upgrade train does come your way you won't be able to upgrade because you won't have enough 121 time because you will have been on reserve forever.

3 in my summer new hire class hold PHX. The most junior one was awarded it 4 months after date of hire. He finished training early because he had a few hundred 121 time at PSA and a CL65 type.

Yeah but correct me if I'm wrong. All of your other domiciles are also domiciles for other regionals with much better contract/QOL/movement (Skywest has PHX but it ain't happening for anyone new).

Anyone know the best way to get an extra set of stripes for a jacket? Company said they don't get them and I'm not too sure which is the best site for ordering. Thanks.

And you assume that someone new here will automatically get PHX? Just because some people got PHX 6 months ago does not mean the same thing for you. I'm not saying you won't ever get PHX I'm just trying to show you how stupid your line of thinking is.

The best piece of advice for anyone wanting PHX would be to move or commute to someplace else. Like you said it ain't happening at Skywest and at Mesa you most likely will have to wait several months, and upgrading into PHX is out of the question for anyone with less than 10 years seniority.

No it is you who doesn't get it. I am saying why would anyone go to Mesa. Someone who lives in Phoenix and doesn't want to commute is the only reason I can fathom. Unless you have any other reasons?

Send your jacket away to M&H they'll add a 4th stripe for a small cost. 15 bucks or something, can't remember.
