It's the most senior base we have. Plan on 6-8 months after date of hire to hold it. Plan on 1.5 years to get off reserve, and I'd estimate 3+ years to hold captain assuming we keep growing.

All of the above is estimation, and should be treated as such.

What if you are a commuter?
If this is true, just another reason to not come here.
Your IAH CA award would be effective "upon completion of training" meaning from the company's perspective you're DFW-based until you're signed off on CA Fed ride/IOE and released to the line on the EJet in IAH. Any sim or ground done in DFW and the company isn't required to pay for your hotel.

(Shrugs) There are people here that thought CLT would never close. It mat happen or it may not. If you try to read the tea leaves too much you'll drive yourself crazy. Just pick what will make you happy, and then pick what you'll tolerate if it doesn't quite pan out the way you wanted it to.

Nobody knows PHX's future 100% for certain, but it'll probably stay around a while. The issue is it's wedged geographically right between LAX and DFW, so it's somewhat redundant. That being said, LAX is maxed out on space and they're still filling flights out of Phoenix, so it has some health. The latest I've heard is there will be a small drawdown in mainline operations and a small uptick in regional operations out of Sky Harbor.

From what I've heard recently, it can be had sooner than six months, and definitely not 1.5 years of FO reserve. Maybe 2-5 months. As for Captain, 10+ years currently. Phoenix Captains are widely considered lifers. Don't plan on it ever happening, you'll get hired elsewhere before you ever have the seniority.

Standing Bid is out--I'm thinking this will be one of the last couple of vacancies where we see <1 year upgrades for IAD CA.

They've pretty much cleared all the "previous 1,000 hours 121" guys from the FO list with this one. I predict 2 years average seniority to hold EJet CA for the next couple of awards, and then it's going to climb and stabilize around 3-3.5 years (EJet) and 2-2.5 years (IAD CRJ).

Nope! There's still me, but I'm holding out for DFW or IAH.

I was just told that the new class has mostly prior 121 pilots. I didn't meet them myself, but that's what the instructor said. TIFWIW.

TIFWIW, You know what that means right? If a class is all former 121 right now that means they are mostly washouts from other 121 training programs. 3 to 4 in every class hitting the line right now are 121 washouts who needed a second chance. Mesa was never their first choice.

And your numbers come from where? And you know Mesa was their second chance how?

Oh.
