Exactly.
Just jumping to another regional isn't necessarily a smart choice. Like Skyler02 said, you want to look for a step up if possible, then look sideways.
And spending your days going on interviews isn't always what you want to do, either.
As for the question about training.. yes it's very good; not just because they need you to pass, but because they'll make sure you need to know what you need to know. That being said, I found once on the line, there were some serious gaps that had to be filled; but with the limited sim time, I can understand why they can't do everything.
As far as the question that's often asked about how is training, to which is often responded, "if you can fly an airplane and aren't a complete dumbass, you can pass any training…" Well, yes and no. Yes, in theory. However there are airlines (regional and others) where the CULTURE is clearly to do everything they can to get you to pass (Mesa being one of them) and others where the CULTURE is to do everything they can to trip you up and if you fall, kick you out. (GoJet comes to mind as I have 3 friends there who have had issues during initial, recurrent and upgrade at various times; GoJet seems to want to make you fail, laugh at you when you do, then complain they don't have enough pilots.) <- that statement coming from one of them who's there still.
So when people ask, "How is training?" I think most, myself included, are just curious about the culture of training - some people can breeze through any training event.. but some, maybe most of us, will have a rough day in the sim. That doesn't mean you're not qualified, but if you're not given a chance to right yourself after a stumble, who wants to work there??

I mean, c'mon, the signing bonuses alone are what a Mesa FO makes in a year. The pay rates are double, the insurance is 1/3, the work rules, the per diem, the hotels . . . and they will probably even pay for KCM and iPads.
But, by all means, check out all your options, including the next step up and make sure you make the move that is going to serve you best. The good news is, whatever choice you make, they are ALL a step in the right direction.

Edit: nevermind. I've seen how many airlines you've accepted class dates at over the last couple years, and that you have worked at a couple other airlines., and that you almost started at Mesa a year or so ago I think I know why you are going to Mesa. The flash cards should be fine. But they give you everything you need to be successful in class.

Thank you for the info. And let me be straight up, just because other people who come to Mesa and are stuck and cant get out doesnt mean everyone has skeletons in the past. Its what the experience you get out from an airline can take you and help you for your next challenge. And yes i have had many class offers many years ago but it doesnt mean that is a negativity, maybe my resume is impressive after all. And i can assure you my past or the airline i worked for in the past, have nothing to do with why I am considering Mesa, its a personal choice for a personal career goal in the long term. We all shop around and see where we can get the experience and time to help move on where you want to in the LONG TERM. I know alot of people at Mesa currently who are there for years, are frustrated but it doesnt mean you should prevent others from coming because everyone has personal goals. I have more than a handful friends who are from Mesa and few just recently who went to some carriers overseas such as Emirates, Qatar, FlyDubai, Korean, ANA and are making well over 150k and some went to mainline and LCC here. So my point is, no regional airline is bad my friend, its what you want to get out of it and go where you want to go. Good luck to you.
Yes, there is a bad regional airline. It is Mesa. Seriously.
No one goes to Mesa unless they can't go elsewhere, or they are new to the industry and don't know any better.

I know at least 23 F/Os who will be leaving next month because of pay. They all have class dates at other regionals. We are gonna have less than 150 F/os in base at IAH by next month every one I spoke with is leaving and there's a lot of captain and captain flying right now
