Can I get a positive response for asking for a specific base such as Offutt or McConnell on the limited recall program?
Should I hold out a bit longer for a better program from AFPC such as permanent recall and no VSP payback?
I just started reading this thread and will start from the beginning. I know these are specific questions but times are rough, the savings is drying up and the FO job is not feeding the kids. Anyone with specific information I would appreciate a PM. Thanks, God Bless the troops and a great Memorial Day to All!!!

I spoke w/ a friend who works at AFPC and learned that those guys are swamped and will get in touch with you when your app. is being looked and they have all the info they need. I know it's next to impossible, but have patience... and share how the process works for those of us that aren't quite there yet...

Thanks Beaker, I was trying to get in touch with him because I had a few more assignment possibilities I didn't put on my original cover letter and wanted to float the ideas by him before it became too far along in the process.
As for timeline I put in the package on 11 May, had my physical the same day (got lucky since the base near me could fit me in right away) heard back that they had my package the next day. I'll be calling the base to see if my physical is in the system tomorrow since they told me to check back in 2 weeks. Been retired for just over 2 years so hopefully no surprises.

I submitted my return stuff to the NGB about 2 weeks ago, but no word from AFPC. Will they send a notification to everyone or just the retiree/separatees that they have received the stuff. Not sure if I need to push the rope a little harder at Guard Bureau. Thanks in advance.

Remember when we used to peruse sites like this to get out of the military?
And now.......we peruse it get hired by the military and out of the airlines.
Life sure is funny.

Got Gouge? How ironic. I guess we'll see "classified" gouge books hiding at the pilot bases (probably in the crew lounges) with all the gouge on getting back in the military. It will contain contact numbers/email addresses, sample resumes, sample letters of recommendation, and "trip reports" from those who have successfully completed the process. Too funny!

Yes, and it could flip back the other way in a few years. Military cutbacks, UAVs, FAA rule changes, an airline boom --- who knows? Lots of things "just can't happen"...until they do.
