voodiloquist,
I faxed my package in on 17 Apr (Fri) and received an email on the 20th asking for my physical. I had just gotten it scheduled that morning for 14 May. The next day on the 21st, I received an email from MSgt Jacks asking if I needed any help with getting the physical set up.
If you haven't heard anything you might want to give them a call.

To All
I spoke with the recall office today to get an update on my package. For info I am applying under the Rated Retired Recall program.
17 Mar faxed initial paperwork minus medical. 2 Apr completed medical exam and faxed a copy to AFPC. 10 Apr medical package sent out for coord. (they send them out in batches). Called 5 May for an update. They told me they were running over 30 days to get the medicals back. Once back and good to go an assignemnt team will be in touch to confirm my preferences. Then off to your assignment officer for matching. Once returned a board will review the entire package for approval. They also told me they were still working on finishing all the "Feb" packages. Considering they had there first board about two weeks ago they will need to work through this log jam and refine things for the 60 day goal, my opinion but I would expect no less than 90 days from a completed package. Good Luck to all.

I concur with CFIC. I was basically told the same thing. My physical was ok'd by the AETC/SG on April 23 which is only three weeks from the time my physical was completed in PEPP. This is with the SG requesting that I do a treadmill stress test. I submitted those results on on April 9. So the SG only took a total of 3 weeks, so maybe they are speeding up the process. I was also told by MSgt Jacks that they are working on the Beginning to mid-Feb packages, so they are really processing them slowly. Still no word from the assignments section for me. Waiting for the assignments call is what's driving us crazy. We're thinking it'll probably be an early August move.

I just received an official offer letter from the Air Force to Return to Active Duty. Base and aircraft were what I had asked for. The letter is two parts. Part 1 -- offer letter with base and aircraft assignment and some contact info. It also says "pending revalidation of your aeronautical orders, you have been selected for recall to Extended Active Duty (EAD)under the Retired Rated Officer Recall Program." Not sure what revalidation of aeronautical orders means since I passed my flight physical. ???? I assume that is what I referred to in the previous post about the hoops to jump through at the Air Staff. CJ says not to worry about it -- just some kind of legal formality.
Part 2 -- Statement of Intent (SOI) to sign and return within 7 days. The SOI does include the provision of no ACP, no 365-day TDYs however you are a volunteer for all other TDYs, no promotion eligibility and duration of EAD of 36 months upon completion of aircraft training.
It says that further guidance for EAD processing will follow once I send in the SOI.
I'll keep you posted on the timeline until I actually exchange my Retired ID card for an Active Duty ID card. Good luck to all!

Thunder1 Cograts on the offer. I concur with the aero. orders on legal to fly. I beleive when you retired they actually canx your orders. Makes since Air Staff has to sign off on them again and I agree its just the rubber stamp. Good Luck on the remaining process.

Speaking from experience joining the Guard to fly again after separating:
After you pass the medical, your 1042 becomes part of the application to revalidate your flying orders. Like you said, a formality, but it does take time.
