MooseDriver,
I'm a C-17 guy at WRI (formerly CHS) and when I was an MP, I split all the primary time evenly among the crew and this was the practice of all the "A" codes I flew with.
By God, I'm claiming any time airborne as PIC if my name's at the top of the orders. You're probably an IP now, so it's a moot point as you're probably logging all IP time anyways. I try to log a good 1/3 of my IP time while unconcious in the CRACM!

Spciii,
I'm at Altus now, so I get all IP time, but I hate to throw away other time even though I was the A code.
As an AC, I also split time up by 1/3 amoung all the crewmembers. What a waste that was since copilots don't need Primary or Secondary time.
I'm just nervous of putting other time in my SWA resume, because it might give them the impression that I can't follow the rules.

you gotta remember also that anytime after upgrading to AC and higher your coded as an MP or higher on your orders. and the airlines have NO way of knowing if you signed for the jet if you flew with another AC or IP or EP. They only see whats on your AFORMS or your civilian equivalent log, so with that in mind you have a lot of freedom. keep it ethical
as far as other time goes, youre still the A code so you can justify logging that as PIC. they just dont want to see you hiding anything.
Copilot Other time is totally useless and should be thrown away, so when you say it was a WASTE to give copilots PRI and SEC time thats totally incorrect. if that was the case copilots like me would be desperate to meet TOTAL time mins.
As an Altus IP you should be well above the mins anyway, your PIC and total times should be impressive enough to get hired. You should only be worrying about this stuff if your brushing right up against 1000 PIC

Doesn't copilot other time count as SIC?
My deal with the PIC time is for SWA. They have mins of 1300 PIC. I just want to be as competitive as possible and not throw away any other time while I was in command.
Thanks for the help

Im not sure if someone else who is with a mainline can step in and answer this, but based on what all the guys in my reserve unit told me, they wont accept Copilot Other time as SIC time. As a matter of fact that could end up hurting you in the interview if you put it down as SIC time.... anyone else have any thoughts on that?

I signed out my flight records a couple weeks ago. On my annual review printout, it had all of my totals broken down by qualification and aircraft type.(i.e. 1 line was B-model MC time, 1 line B-model MP time, 1 line C-model MC time, 1 line C-Model MP time... etc).
Maybe I was just lucky to have my unit be so thorough with AFORMS products, but that made my totals easy. Ask your SARMS guy if he can print you up that product.

If you go to the AF Portal, then workspace or the A-Z dropdown, and find the ARMS portal. They have products there that show your sortie count and it is broken down by aircraft and position. I think the only thing missing is the sortie count for UPT, but it does have your total student time.

It is one thing to be the A-code logging other time because you can still make decisions in the jump seat and responsible for the aircraft (and I've never seen an A-code sleeping in the bunk while someone else was up in the left seat), but as SIC, it's worthless IMO.
