NetJets new Contract

Keep in mind you may be on the Training 72 Day for months and months. There has been a little more good will lately (TA anyone?
) but it is up to Scheduling when you get a 7/7 once you are "out of the gate" until the next bid period. I was denied a 7/7 after my last initial type and spent a long time on the Training 72 day. If you miss the bid because you are in training (ineligible) it can be at least 4 months after IOE before you get a 7/7. Its a good moneymaker, but it will make your early months kind of "not fun".

No, once you are off IOE you can "request" a 7/7, but may be denied and kept on the Tng72. This does a couple things, mainly keeps you working more so the need for pilots is less. Once the next period bid is open you can bid a 7/7 and the odds of actually getting one are almost 100% in your favor.

How long does it take to hold the 52 day schedule?

Varies by fleet and seat, but its safe to say YEARS to get the CC52. Several reasons:
1) The company hates it, so it is offered in very limited quantity.
2) Less work, so the senior guys grab it.
3) Its the closest you will ever have to a "normal" life while here.
Now that being said, with the TA and the Pharaoh's Riddle pay scheme, it may go junior as more guys go after the money. But just the same, way out of reach for a first year pilot.

Months and months is relative as on some fleets IOE is backed up months and months, guys sitting at home for 8 weeks awaiting first trips, SWA is steeling our check airman as fast as they can! We were told they have been handing out 7/7 after IOE on most fleets to as one way to try and stem attrition for first and second year guys???

Love it. I am totally stealing that.

“Months and months” may be a little stretch. The company wants you fully line qualified ASAP. Plan to be on the training schedule for at least 2-3 months.
“Training backlog” is when you complete your company indoc and sim training and are awaiting IOE. You get paid to sit at home and call every night to see if the next day is a duty day.

Also, because of a few selfish captains, there will be less need to upgrade.

Reducing headcount further is the ENTIRE focus of this IBI. More pilots will migrate to the 72 and 76 CC schedules and frequently with the long tour option in order to maximize Pharaoh's Riddle. The minute a pilot hits the magic number, a goodly number will then extend, further reducing hiring demand.
At a guess, we'll be down another 100 pilots two years from now.
The company ain't totally stupid.
