Maybe. Maybe not.

Just too many variables right now.

Attrition will be low. Purple and brown might snatch a few up but the airlines are probably not hiring in 2021 lol. Unless NJA makes a big move to expand (which ain't happening) I bet there will be little hiring. It's a kick in the shorts for everyone, that's for sure.

Even with the addition of new Marquis Card members, there still is no need for hiring? I was under the impression flying was nearly back to normal.

I believe NetJets is at 75 to 80% of last year's flight levels overall and increasing. There are record numbers of new customers, but the legacy owners are flying less still. Since most of the new customers are card members, I'm guessing the company will wait to see how many graduate to ownership shares before cranking up hiring. They also have plenty of levers to pull with the current pilots to get more productivity- they can reinstate the 76 day schedule to whoever wants it. They can reinstate long tours (more efficient). They can start handing out extended days like candy. They can cancel individual LOAs to get some more pilots back on line again also. I believe there will be little to no hiring over the next year unless a lot of card members start buying in instead of staying with cards. Cards make money, but management likes the stability of owners.

Owners don't equal expansion, aircraft orders do. Unless there is a waitlist to buy shares because aircraft can't come on property fast enough, owners leaving and owners coming doesn't move the needle in terms of pilot hiring. If they have reduced larger schedules for pilots to bid and from talking to friends on the line who are flying very unproductive trips, I would say you are off on the 75-80% guestimation.

I know there was a flights per day metric you could look at, but isn't there also a live leg percentage you can see as well?

Clearly you have no idea about how NJA operates, or many operators for that matter. "Yanking gear" hasn't existed for over 30 years in professional aviation, except perhaps some catfish operators. SICs here do as much flying legs as the PICs do, and in my 16th year here I have never once experienced the "me Captain, you nothing" crap.
And good luck finding more than a few 30-somethings in the left seat, NJA has an aging group.
