Saying upgrades will never happen is conjecture, not FACT , go enjoy your night, update your apps , be happy : )

What type of headsets are in the NJ planes? Is anyone using the Bose QuietComfort with the UFlyMike set up?

Usually Telex 850s. There are hundreds of pilots using the Bose/UFlyMike combo.

True....

But one needs to assess the situation by looking at the fact NetJets has FOs approaching year 13, with no upgrade in sight. This combined with almost zero growth and a "fly til you die" retirement mentality... and it's not hard to see that upgrades are nowhere in sight for a new hire.

I agree with you that removing the emotional negativity is a must do when looking at any situation.

I left NetJets after 13 years as a captain and took the VSP. My feelings were that ship has no course, and the rudder is missing too. The risks far outweighed the advantages in my situation.

I don't agree with this statement but didn't want to waste the time to voice my opinion (opinions and ass holes). G550 wrote most of it for me.

Only thing to correct is I'm PIC and will complete 12 years next month. Involuntary SICs start year 12 in May. Hiring and upgrades always work like a pendulum. We haven't had upgrades in 8 years. Opinion is one road block was fired yesterday. We are still heavy on captains till we start hiring.

I know someone that was hired in 2004-05 timeframe. Great guy. He has flown a Citation for ~12 years. Just got upgraded to captain.... Still on the Citation. Back in '04 I thought Netjets was the cats meow of biz jets. I think it still probably (arguably) is if you have been there for 20+ years.

I cannot imagine being there for 12 years and still being stuck in a Citation. Nothing against them but man that has to suck.

Here is the thing. I think everyone hired at Netjets is airline (majors) material in qualifications. I also understand that there is a percentage of people that do not want to work for the airlines period and wanna fly biz jets. But today you have to be a fool to be a new hire or anyone under 10 years seniority at Netjets and not be trying your hardest to go to one of the major airlines.

In 5 years you'd be 1/3 the way up the seniority list. Make more money. Not have to sit at an FBO all day and on and on and on.

I will be real surprised that is over the next few years Netjets doesn't seriously boost pay especially at the bottom there will be an exodus of junior guys and training will eat them up.

I am not there so I don't know for sure but what do you guys that work there think?

We have a variety of Citations; some are bigger and nicer than others. Besides, Citations make up more than half of our fleet. Looking at the FAA's listing of our US fleet, you'll see that of the 418 planes on our certificate, 213 of them are Citations. So if you don't want to fly one, Netjets probably isn't a great choice.

Most of us over here come from a variety of backgrounds, and bring a plethora of experience to the table, I myself have freight dogged in DC-3's, flown pax in 727's, and Afghan relief in 747s, I'm here because this place works extremely well for my familia and I,and as to the Citation ? The wee jet is ok by me, at a certain level it's all good, there is a perfection to be found in a humble, Zen simple Aeronca 7AC, you may understand this, or you may not, this may not make sense to you but I flew DC-3's for ten years till they sold the fleet out from under me, I was a happy man then, and I'm happy now. Is everything perfect here? Of course not, but overall for some of us this is a pretty good situation, it works, and for everybody else , if it doesn't work, we are in the midst of the best environment for pilot hiring in a generation. Cheers.
