dissent on the Union MB is not allowed. I mean look at the posts that get moderated in the "2016 Totals" thread.

What I just hope is that people who are applying, interviewing, and waiting (a long time in some cases) for a class actually know what they are stepping into. The turnover and people actively trying to leave from the post-furlough hires is almost 90%
That should tell potential applicants all they need to know.

It would save the company money in pay & healthcare costs, increase crew utilization, (arguably) increase safety, and definitely result in a better product for the owners.
Totally agree with everything here. FYI, for all to read, here is a link to the Exxon case in which Exxon finally prevailed. Therefore, it was in fact, NOT age discrimination after all. Go figure.

I'm of the opinion that NJ could easily sight this legal precedent against the onslaught of lawsuits to support their own mandatory age-cap. They'd just have to fight them and I'm not sure they have the sack for that.

Problem is, the Stockholm syndrome populous thinks there is no issue, no dissent among the ranks, and everyone who doesn't universally love everything the company does, is in the wrong so it will never change.

This case is probably the most relevant to a mandatory retirement argument legally. Combine this with the metrics that the company absolutely keeps track of, of training failures, violations, medical issues, mental issues etc of aging pilots, there is absolutely an argument for it.

I get it, its not regulatory, and change is scary, but it is not impossible to implement it.

In my thirteen years at NetJets... this was my biggest fear.

BREAKING NEW..... THIS IS A FOX NEWS ALERT !!!!

FAA sources tells Fox News a private jet has crashed at the White Plains airport killing all aboard.

24 hours later....

NTSB officials have identified the pilots of N###QS, Capt *****, age 68 and First Officer ****, age 71.

Then the retirement age will change.

I flew with a few quality, extremely proficient pilots over 65. I could count them on one hand. The ones that should have retired at 65? I could count on my hands and toes.

I flew with a captain who was 75+. I should have tipped myself 5 bucks for each leg I had to load and unload him from the plane.

I flew with a guy who was 73 last year on the XL, retired Delta, did a great job, didn't find out he was 73 till the second to last day, I never would have guessed, but I won't belabor the point that there are some guys who should hang up their spurs. The haters on here crack me up, this place works for a lot of us, the airlines work for a lot of peeps, I've flown 121 , pax and cargo, I loved that too, it's all good , find the place that works for you, enjoy your life, don't be that guy who is miserable wherever he lands. Cheers out, Buckeye FO I hope you end up in the cockpit of your dreams, and that goes for any and all of my NJA brothers and sisters engaged in the hunt. Buon Anno : ) !!!

Except Fox News would blame it on Obama, so no need to introduce a mandatory retirement age!

Carry on.
