Why? Autothrottles make the job easier , not harder, they were a sweet gift on the 400 , made us lazy : )

Maybe it's just the Garmin they can't handle. Garmin has nothing in common with any other FMS. I'm guessing the autothrottles are adding to the confusion. These guys haven't flown autothrottle in 10-15 years. Or maybe they're just too old. Fact is, the old guys are failing Latitude Initial. Ask around.

Don't forget. At 75, they're about 10 years away from their kids taking their drivers license away.

this was the same thing that happened to a bunch of furloughed G200 guys who did no flying when they were on furlough, then came back and couldn't hack the Phenom.

Auto throttles or auto thrust?

Cessna calls them throttles (not thrust levers) in every Citation I've flown, including the Latitude. I don't know why.

Almost everybody that I talk to calls them "autothrottles"....except maybe Airbus Drivers

It´s just semantics

By the way, Gulfstream calls them "autothrottles" as well.

No no no...you guys are just a bunch of greedy intolerant children who want these "highly experienced" pilots (What a joke) out of your seat. Cognitive decline, despite what medical science says, is bull****. These guys have every right to endanger other people's lives for their own personal gain. You just don't understand what they've gone through in their lives...and remember, they really really like money! You'll be there someday too ya know ;-)

Company should have a doctor at recurrent.
Take a VSP (whatever package they put together) OR Exam by Doc.
We'd drop 500 pilots in 6 months.

The amount of guys who have a BS medical is off the charts.

Totally agree. We used to have that for new hires. Doc did his job, found a few disqualifying things (especially with the gummers). Poeple *****ed (because god forbid they should have to follow the rules), union got involved, and he was eventually removed.

Well then everyone started going to this old guy in Columbus for a medical and it was a total joke. Everyone knew that he'd give you a first class even if you were in a coffin.
Someone complained to the FAA and 2 people were sent by the feds who should have failed and of course he rubber stamped them. He lost his AME over it.

Now while that is not directly NetJets' fault...the management has actively turned a blind eye to the health of our pilots. From the food that we are fed, rest, gym memberships, anti-smoking campaigns, to Medical Exams.
