Hey

is anybody in the forum from Phoenix and currently flying for NJA?
Or do you know any PHX based guys who are willing to chat about the life at NJA over a coffee in the next few days?
Or if you have a layover at PHX, IWA, SDL etc.

Would really appreciate that.

Cheers

I just realized we'll be watching the Superbowl in the hotel the night before. Should be a good time!

Questions: understanding that transitioning to the left seat at Netjets could take a decade or more (I guess depending upon attrition), how many years before a current newhire could bid and receive the right seat on a large-cabin jet like the Falcon, Global or departing Gulfstreams? 5 years? Or is a move to a mid-sized jet like the Sovereign or CL350 more likely? What about current Gulfstream FOs - will they basically move over to the Global and occupy those FO seats (while waiting for Capt slots) as Gulfstreams continue to be phased out? I recall reading something about large cabin pilots remaining in those aircraft but I can't find it...

Regardless, I've read about a number of Netjetters on this forum who have already done this in moving from light jets to the gradually-departing Gulfstream fleet over the past few years. Will those same opportunities exist down the line for people joining now? Just wondering because I assume, although attractive to some people, not everyone wants to sit as an XLS FO for 10 years...

For a newhire it could be 5 years or it could be 20 years. It is really hard to tell as we have had little to no movement over the past 6 years. I am an 8+ year F/O that wants to move over to a large cabin aircraft. I am about 350 numbers away from being able to hold a bid for the Gulfstream/Global SIC. The bottom of the seniority list is about 600-700 numbers away. Unless we start seeing huge attrition numbers I would guess 5 years is very optimistic.

Can any one give an idea what the schedule looks like for indoc/initial?

The profile page is obviously not accurate anymore. Anyone have an update of what the fleet actually looks like now?

Company indoc is two weeks followed by a minimum of 5 days off. Flightsafety ranges from 16-24 days depending on the aircraft then you get a day off for every two days you were at Flightsafety. Then you call in every night to see if you are going out on IOE the next day. Some people go out immediately after their guaranteed days off and some wait several months depending on which fleet you are in.

I don't know exactly what the fleet numbers are but we have some fleets that are shrinking like the G200 and G IV/V. Some that are stagnant like the encore/encore+, Sovereign, X, and Falcon. XLS and Hawker fleets have gotten a little bigger with imports from NetJets Europe. Then there are growing fleets such as the Phenom, Challenger 350, Global and the Challenger 650 soon with Citation Latitudes a few years down the road. Recalled pilots have gone into everything from the Encore to the Falcon with most going to the Hawker and XLS.

Default Net Aircraft Gain ?

With all the new a/c deliveries at the company will this result in a net gain in aircraft or status quo ?

An increase in fleet size should equal expansion within the roster.
Most commonly flight dept's plan for 5-7 crews per aircraft in the airline biz.

Not sure what ratio in the Frac's.

They are saying a net gain of aircraft for 2015. Contractually min staffing is 5 pilots per airplane. Rumor has it that operationally we need closer to 6 pilots per aircraft with the Globals and Gulfstreams requiring more than that.

I got the call for a phone interview and will schedule that today. Does anyone have any idea if I will be able to get the phone interview and in-person interview done prior to 2 Feb? I start a new job then and would like to not interrupt it. Any info/gouge/advice will be greatly appreciated!
