Didn't see this coming...

SILVER AIRWAYS PROPOSAL TO PROVIDE SUBSIDIZED AIR SERVICE AT GREENVILLE; LAUREL/HATTIESBURG; AND TUPELO, MISSISSIPPI AS WELL AS MUSCLE SHOALS/FLORENCE/SHEFFIELD/TUSCUMBIA, ALABAMA AND GREENBRIER/WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WEST VIRGINIA

Flying will be with Saabs. Looks like we're going to need a lot more of them.

That's a proposal, not a contract.

$24 million for all that?

I keep seeing lots of these proposals for EAS flying the past few months from Silver. How long is the process for a decision on these proposals? Also how is Silver going to provide this service quick enough considering how many Saabs are coming online monthly?

I saw on another forum that someone said they had a Silver pilot in the jumpseat the other day and they stated FO mins are now 750TT. Anyone have any information on this?

No idea how they will get all the planes to fly these routes in time. Right now Colgan is slated to pull out of their flying this summer. I believe the bidding for IAD flying is currently open for comments but I think there might be a decision sometime in the near future because of the Pinnacle bankruptcy; the DOT is trying to expedite finding a new carrier.

I too have heard that 750TT is the new minimum in light of the new ATP law.

It's for sure going to get interesting here, but then again we could all have smoking being blown up our rears. I'm not sure what's going to happen when the 1500 hr rule will kick in, if some of the pilots do reach 1500TT, also heard that pilots under 23 might have to walk away from the job until they are 23. But as always, I'll believe things when the stations are opened, not saying that I wouldn't mind going to fly out of IAH or IAD.

But I would definately recommend following up with the hr dept or chief pilot once every few weeks just to remind them your still keen in joining them. This is what I did for 3 months and it worked for me I guess. Good Luck.

Most,if not all who have been hired here didn't get the job by being idle and waiting for them to make the move. Apparently the stack of resumes is pretty huge, so if you don't stand out by being a pain and keeping your name in the front of their thoughts, you're resume will remain in the pile never to see the light of day.

"TUPELO, Miss. — After rejecting two earlier rounds of bidding by smaller airlines hoping to provide commercial service in Tupelo, city and airport officials might have an offer they like.

Air Choice One and Silver Airways turned in their bids, and Tupelo Regional Airport Executive Director Josh Abramson said he likes what he sees in Silver."
