Hi I just found out about JSX and from everything I’ve read it seems like the idea place for me, I’ve just got a couple of questions...

1. First off, do I even qualify at present ?
1750hrs TT, all PIC but only 26hrs multi and no turbine time
If not what do I need?

2. What type of commitment/contract is attached to the $30k bonus ?

3. Is it common to go directly from JSX to a major airline after a couple of years?

1. You are probably good. Apply and find out. Maybe more multi time would help but your TT may compensate for it.

2. It’s paid out in installments. Basically 10k first year, 10k second year, 10k third (that isn’t exactly right but it’s close to that). Each payout has a 12 month period you would owe it all back should you leave. You can defer an installment for 12 months and receive it without the commitment as well.

3. Nobody has really done it yet. Some have gone to majors but there was close connections or prior 121 time. Everyone says it can be done, not many have actually done it yet but not many are even trying it seems. I remain skeptical but nobody seems to be in a rush to leave anyway so the jury is still out.

From the inc side though a number have gone to AS and SWA. Not sure of how many and not sure of how that applies to the X side.

It’s a great place to work right now. With your time I would definitely apply and see where it goes.

I've been doing a lot of thinking with possibly throwing an app in with JetSuite Inc/X. Everything I've read on this thread sounds like it's a company that has the kind of work environment/schedule that would suit me. I recently got on with a regional (about 6 months ago), but I'm really not taking to the 121 lifestyle at all. Prior to the regionals, I worked an 8 on 6 off gig, and I enjoyed that regularity of schedule. The home basing with being airlined out if necessary was also a nice perk.

I noticed that both the Inc/X side have different minimum time requirements. Inc being 1500 & X being 1000.
I currently have just over 1450 total hours (Restricted- ATP), 230 Turbine time, & 295 multi.

Should I still apply for the Inc side (despite being just below the mins) or should I just apply for X?

Is it possible to move over to the Inc side if one is on the X, & if so, how long would that normally take?

Thank you all for the awesome information given in this thread so far.

Apply to the one where you think you would enjoy the lifestyle more, the two are quite different. Biggest difference is Inc is home based, while X is not, you have to live in domicile. You can transfer between companies but I believe there's a seat lock (1 year IIRC) and the process isn't as straight forward as it seems, but doable. The ones I know of were Inc FOs that came to X to upgrade.

Not much. The runs I've done have all been almost full, and management says overall the route is performing very well. Whether or not that will mean more destinations or more frequencies to/from BFI I don't know.

Things have changed the last 2 years. They go through phases of what they are looking for. Just keep trying, it’s still not a bad place to hang your hat.

Default Too Soon?

Greetings! I'm currently a pilot with a law enforcement agency and will be eligible to retire in 6 months. JetSuite sounds like a fantastic place to work (either Inc or X)! By the time I retire, I will have over 5,000 hours total time. I have a Multi-engine commercial, Single Engine ATP with the ME ATP/CTP Course and Multi-Engine ATP Written Exam completed. I also have about 1,100 hours in a turboprop Cessna Caravan, but only have about 102 hours of multi-engine time, maybe another 50 by the time I retire. I dropped an application with Jetsuite Inc. a couple of weeks ago and have yet to hear from anyone. I was wondering (1) Do you think I'm competitive for either Inc or X? (2) I was told by a friend to just apply for either Inc or X and that, if they were interested, Jetsuite would offer me whichever side they thought I would fit best. Is that the case, or should I apply to both? (3) Did I apply too early? I've heard that 6 months is a good time to start, but others have said that's too early and not to expect a response until I'm a little closer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

You should also look at GAMA/Wheels Up with their fleet of King Air 350s. Check out their minimums too.
