I値l have to put a lot of thought into it, though. Basically your talking about months away from home, which would be hard to do with a family. I might not have a wife anymore when I get home! :-)

I appreciate your help!
No problem!

If it helps, at 900 TT, you'd only be in the program for 100 flight hours (so maybe two months). Our pilots average 60 flight hours per month and we'll try to put you on the highest timed routes.

Default Are you currently hiring?

Hello, I'm a newly minted CFI with 870hrs, should I apply or build more time.
Thank you,
Will G

I'm not sure how much flight time you have, so I'll list the First Officer options here:

Regular FO: 500 TT, 25 ME, 100 XC (defined as point to point), 25 night, 500 PIC, 75 instrument
You would get a base and would need to live near that base. Schedules are typically Monday through Friday, morning to evening - nights and weekends at home.
Can you post a link to this first officer position? On your website only the accelerated position is available. I am interested in the regular FO position. Are regular FOs also required to upgrade at 1200 hours or do they serve as first officers until they choose to upgrade?

Default Change in careers

Hi,
Just retired from teaching HS. 65 yrs old with Commerical SEL and MEL with Instrument rating. TT 1072;757 PIc;460 XC;27 NT;259 Inst;6 ME. I am working on my CFI/CFii rating. I live 30 mins from KBUR. (Have about 300 hrs in the past two years).
The question I have is 1) Am I too old to apply and fly. 2) What are the chances of getting KBUR? 3) Would I be able to fly FO?

Hi, there!

We have an Accelerated Captain Program First Officer position that your TT would fit. If your other times fit, please apply!
Here are the full flight mins for that position: 800 TT, 25 ME, 300 XC (defined as point to point), 100 night, 500 PIC, 75 instrument

Here's the link to apply: First Officer Accelerated Captain Program - Careers At Ameriflight, LLC

We unfortunately don't have an opening for our regular First Officer position at the moment. We typically open it every two or so months as our FOs upgrade to Captains.

First Officers are highly encouraged to upgrade at 1,200 TT - for your career, for pay, etc. But if there's a remote location with just that position as a possibility and you don't want to move away from it, we can understand that. It's not a requirement, just an encouragement.

Hi, there!

Awesome to hear!

1. No, you are definitely not too old to fly for Ameriflight. We don't have a forced retirement age. As long as you can get a second class medical, you are good to go!
2. The changes are pretty high - if the position is open on our site, it is up for grabs by you.
3. At the moment, your TT has you at an FO position, so yes.

Looking over you flight times, you are very close to being able to come in as a Direct Entry Captain in our BE99. If that's of interest to you, we have an opening at BUR: Captain Beech 99 Cargo Pilot - Careers At Ameriflight, LLC

You'd have to get some additional hours in some areas, but are so close: 1,200 TT, 50 ME, 500 XC (defined as point to point), 100 night, 500 PIC, 75 instrument

Hope that helps!

Not sure of your desired location, but if you see an opening on our website at a location that you want, go ahead and apply! www.ameriflight.com/careers

Since you'll be in town next week, I'd be happy to connect you with a recruiter. They might be able to schedule some time to sit down and chat with you at our headquarters.
FreightDogs,

I am in Dallas now. I received my simulator schedule today. I am going to have daytime hours on Monday and Tuesday of next week off. Would it be possible to meet with a recruiter on one of those days?

Thanks! Neal
