I dont think there will be any new hire classes. I am pretty sure we are lil fat on pilots.

Unfortunately guys Turbo is right. We just have too many pilots and no attrition. Hopefully the industry turns around soon. Until then I'd be very surprised to see a class this year at all. Hopefully I'm wrong. Good luck.

Ain't that the truth. I've moved up 12 numbers in the last year. Hopefully recalls and hiring will start shortly.

By the way, I asked one of the brass about hiring recently, and I was told (not giving anything away that's confidential) that the company is "adequately staffed." Didn't get any details beyond that.

I think you may see something in the fall.

Our seniority list has a ton of hires between late 07-oct of 08. It is safe to assume some of these guys are furloughed from somewhere. Unless they get recalled, i would not plan on ANY classes until late 2010.

Hope i am wrong about the classes though!!!

I would be very surprised if we hired in the near future unless we pick up a few more routes.

I would even say MOST people hired during that time are furloughed from other airlines. In my class of 12, 10 of us were furloghees. That said, good chance I won't be accepting recall if offered. Who knows about everyone else.

I know that you're a XJT furloughee and am curious about why you would rather stay at Cape versus returning to XJT. Is it the schedule? The type of flying (hand-flying vs autopilot)? Being a captain vs returning to the right seat? The basing vs commuting?

Just looking at some insight. Cape is pretty high on my places of desired employment right now and would appreciate the feedback.
