Most recent class started up in Hyannis last Monday (1/10). 9 CA, 1 FO, 6 interns (FOs). The class prior to that (11/1) still hasn't completely finished, due to the holidays and lack of airplanes for training. Have heard rumors of another class of mostly Captains in Feb, and then 1 or 2 mixed classes (CA/FO) thru March. But as of yet, nothing definite on those others. Right now pretty much all the lines are filled, so they either think a lot are going to leave or they have some crystal ball for happenings in the future...

As for interviewing, last I heard they were having trouble filling classes. I recall hearing someone say they called something like 10 people after interviews and only 3 accepted. But that might be way off

Hope that helps! Send your stuff in and keep in contact with GS or KP. Loving Cape Air so far, be glad to have more aboard!!

Can't figure out how to get a response out of them. What's the secret?

Anyone know what are the real current minimums? I have 1520TT, 149 Multi and a little over 70 hours in C421. Applied few months ago. Haven't heard anything. So I am assuming they are hiring guys with much higher times.

Had been calling the two recruiters often, but they never answer or call back.

Interns are generally part of the Gateway Program. You can read about that on the Cape Air Jobs website. The get trained and fly as FOs in the Northeast, and work with the various departments doing intern stuff. After their internship, they build time at their school flight instructing, and come back to Cape Air to fly as a captain. It's a paid position, but not sure how much. Unless you are a college student (or a very recent grad) it's not really an option.

Hey Folks-

Have thought about applying with Care Air for years..... Been out of flying (full time flying I mean, but have stayed current) for about 3 years. After all those years of thinking about it, I had a chance to fly on Cape a couple of months ago, and I though the type of flying they do looks like a great challange and alot of fun.

Are they still interviewing and have classes open?

I am an "older" pilot (49) and this would be a terminal step, not wanting to go to the majors. I dont have a degree, but am working on it online.

here is what Ive got:

LICENSES AND RATINGS

FAA Airline Transport Pilot - Airplane ME Land
FAA Commercial Pilot - Airplane SE Land
BE-1900 type rating
EMB 135/145 SIC type rating
FlightSafety trained on the BE-200 and BE-1900
FAA First Class Medical
Current US Passport

FLIGHT TIME

TOTAL TIME 6827 SEL 2737
MEL 4090 JET SIC 1086
TURBO PROP PIC 1679 INST 1038
PIC 5247 NIGHT 2908
CROSS COUNTRY 5112

Worth a shot?

I'd say go for it. If you truly want to fly with us as your final career step, they'd be happy to have you onboard. The great thing about having the "lifers" is that you have that many fewer pilots to train in the future. We have hired as you say "older" pilots in the past.
