I was sent a CJO and I accepted. I had a clearance (prior military) but it has been several years and it is no longer active. I completed the SF86 today and submitted it. Anyone have any idea on the time required to complete investigation?

Talk to your recruiter... There are some programs you can be on with an interim clearance and some you can't. This issue came up recently when Some of the contracts for certain programs went to competitors and they had to do a personnel shuffle but I don't remember the details of how it played out.

Just a guess... as pilot 2s on property qualify, and later upgrade, more openings will be posted.
If you see an opening you're interested in, don't sit and wait to apply because the hiring environment changes rapidly and often enough. Pull the trigger and start the application process, which can take 6-12 months depending on your timing, clearance adjudication and needs of the company etc.
Apply early, apply often if you want to get into the ISR industry.
