Is this not 6/3 ?
Methinks I've missed something.......

I've driven by there a couple times to see if they have an office. Where on the airport did you see this? I haven't seen any of their airplanes at VGT. However, my house is on base to final and I've seen a couple fly over.

They are supposed to have a LAS base, but I can't determine if its at LAS or VGT.

Supposedly, its six days on, three days off with home basing. They buy you a ticket from your base city to the plane on the first day and ticket home from the plane on the last day.

Read previous post. You're on the hook 3AM day one, and off the hook DAY 7 at 3AM.................. So, the day before you better be in bed early.

No union, contract work. No guarantees.

That was presented as what could happen.
Is it the norm ?

It is not the norm. That is the period that they are allowed to schedule you in without paying you overtime. Your start time for each day is received before duty off the day prior.

I think that Mr. JT8D's point is that you really aren't guaranteed a whole 3 days off, it's technically 6 days on, 68 hours off (Versus 72 hours or three days off). Now one might get more than 68 hours off, but 68 hours is the guaranteed time off.

A friend of mine there told me that they are losing 6 pilots per month, and the reason most often given is schedule. Despite that their upper management says that the 6/3 schedule is written in stone, I would expect a change as the pilot shortage/hiring boom heats up. A friend of mine loved their job at Wheels Up, but took a $30,000 per year pay cut just to get a better schedule.. He just got hired a Netjets, so life will be much better.

Eventually, Wheels Up will get tired of being a revolving door, giving out type ratings out to people that are already planning to leave when they see the realities of the brutal 6/3 schedule, and things (the schedule) will improve. If not, I see (and have heard) that their pilots will be seeking representation to make things improve. You watch... the schedule will then improve when the Union threat becomes real and the pilots start receiving Union cards. Sometimes just the threat is enough to make things better (ala Flexjet).
