Default Planes for Sale?

Was looking at Controller and happened across two of Boutique's King Airs for sale. Wonder what that means for the King Air fleet and the company as a whole if they are selling off planes?

How do you know they're 'selling off'? Companies never sell their planes?

Seems like it's kind of a thing when they are the first planes they have ever sold, and they are planes from a fleet of only, what, 4 or 5 King Airs. I think the question of what that means to the King Air fleet is valid, and what that means to a company that has perpetually been short on aircraft.

If you look on regulations.gov and search "boutique air" you can find every EAS bid submitted. It makes sense that they would sell the King Air fleet now that they do not have one EAS contract requiring a multi engine aircraft. Often, Skywest will have a much lower bid with a CRJ-200 than Boutique submits with a King Air 350.

What is truly amazing, and something that Boutique should be proud of, is that they were able to secure a codeshare with United using single engine aircraft under Part 135.

The article above is a good example of Boutique Air showing their support of the PC12 vs the King Air.

Honest question, what's so great about that? Tradewind recently got a United codeshare also.

Close. The regulations require 2 pilots for IFR OPS with PAX under Part 135 (135.101). You can receive the OPS SPEC A015 which gives relief if you have an adequate functioning autopilot (135.105).

In addition, the use of a single pilot with an autopilot only applies to nine or less passenger seats. Ten or more seats, always have to have an SIC for passenger carrying OPS (135.99).

$62.50, and I believe it was $65 if you are LAX, but it's been a bit, so I could be mistaken on that second part.

I recently spoke to a gal thats at btq. she told told me she was hired at 440TT but that she had heard that 300TT was the bare minimum "for insurance reasons." I'm at 280 right now. Think I'm gonna wait till i hit 300 to apply.
