It's no secret that Piedmont has always hired the best aviators to fly the American Eagle brand. This is even more evident during the pandemic, since so many qualified guys ended up looking for work.
We can expect hiring to pick up rapidly come summer time. Piedmont will continue to put high-caliber guys into new hire classes to fill this need.
It's no coincidence that AA mainline brags about Piedmont and what their pilots are capable of.

In late 2018 with around 730 pilots for 60 Jets Piedmont stated they were “fully manned” and started to hire for attrition only. That is just over 12 pilots per jet. We are now a 55 jet airline. 670 pilots would make us fully manned by that standard. Large outside flow attrition will likely be the only thing to change minds.

No they don't have the fastest flow . Other regionals are flowing triple the numbers that Piedmont is, without batting an eye. This line is no longer a sell to potential candidates. Not the fastest flow but what Piedmont is:
-smallest pilot group of all 3 WO
-worst QOL-worst schedules
-min days off means max as well-worst union (be prepared for changes sent from management THEN an email hours later from your union claiming they didn't know the changes were happening)
-union dues to an incompetent union with ZERO ability to negotiate or HOW to negotiate.
-flow to AA 8 yrs atleast.

That dude trolled you and you fell for it…. But, just for S&Gs, how long do you estimate the flow is for a new hire at the other WOs? Shorter than 8 years??? Truth is, you have NO idea how long the flow is at this moment given the current circumstances and anything you say is pure speculation. Also, the union was able to navigate this pandemic and work with the company to avoid furloughing a single pilot. This is (hopefully) the worst crisis we will face in our careers and there is no doubt we should have furloughed. Instead, many of us were released from duty with full pay while almost 1,000 of our ALPA brothers and sisters at PSA and Envoy were on the street and many others were forced to downgrade. To say that this union leadership is “incompetent” is simply ignorant. Your energy is misdirected.

Nothing against the union at PDT, but let’s not forget that PDT was in a very different situation than Envoy and PSA simply because PDT was (and continues to be) understaffed. You don’t need to furlough and downgrade folks when you don’t have enough of them in the first place.
we were going to furlough. we came to an agreement to mitigate furloughs[. we had downgrades and furloughs announced. if i recall it was 100 pilots, quite a bit for our size. understaffed is true, but understaffed to the point of no furloughs, no.

Current status: short staffed & scheduling makes up new rules daily against our contract with the union doing nothing to stop it.

they also knew if they furloughed some would not come back. Now we’re short staffed ... again. Plus not furloughing people gave recruiting another line to use.
