I hear the same thing from a lot of people. Many think 1000 TPIC is just like the old "100 Hours Multi-Engine" to get an interview at a regional. If thats the case, why are there so many 2-10 year captains at Eagle, ASA/ExpressJet and Republic?

But hey, quick upgrade. Truth: 3rd year CA pay at Mesa is better than any FO rate at any regional (including endeavor). But again... it's Mesa.

Upgrade here will drop to 2 years in a couple of months. Nothing is stopping anyone here from applying to ual and dal. In fact, one of our FO ' S just got hired by ual. Carry on.
If I was a 23 year old right now looking to get on with a regional, I would go to Piedmont over every other regional for several various reasons.

I'm curious, is it an actual 4-hour min day at Piedmont? Or a 4-hour daily trip average? For example, with an actual 4-hour min day, a 2-day trip that blocks two hours on day one and six hours on day two would be worth ten hours with a 4-hour min day. With a 4-hour daily trip average, said trip would be worth eight hours with an average of 4 hours per day.

It's the latter. 4 hour average.

4hr min.. You can find plenty of 2 day trips on the schedule with 5.5hr block and 8Hr credit on them.

You're both close... It's a 4hr modified min. Anyways if the schedules improve here it'll be a great place to work again. Seems like a lot of changes are happening for the better so I guess in the mean time we wait and see.

If you're a current PDT pilot it seems that Alaska and United have hired more of our pilots in the last few months adding to the semi annual sweep from JetBlue and US/AA.

Looks like seniority for the Junior Captains is moving at 100 spots per year and about 150 per year for Junior F/Os.

In a company of under 400 Pilots, that's less than 2 years to upgrade and about 2-3 years from there to be picked for the flow. And this is before we start taking on more aircraft.

The training department isn't as bad as the washouts advertise, But you have to study to pass. It goes by very quickly.

Back to schedules, why do they build all those 90hr lines with 11 days off when the contract only mandates 75Hr?!? seems like there's 3 days more work than necessary.

What kind of trips do you guys see out of CHO, EWN and SBY? Out and backs or several days on the road? All are within a 3 hour drive for me.

A pretty good mix. EWN seems to do a lot more out and backs than the other bases.

They do that so you won't be able to pick up extra trips on your days off, at premium pay,.... while they're also paying reserves to sit at home.
