They’d much rather poach pilots from another airline’s W/O and put them in a staffing/training bind.
Then explain how the present group of Piedmont flows are dropping into AA classes in just over 5 yrs, and some others getting hired from PSA and Piedmont outside the flow.

*recruiting BS alert*
You aren't seriously suggesting that someone starting at PDT (or PSA or The Envoy) now should expect to flow to AA in five years, are you?

Some = at least one. I'm sure that there's more than one, but you should at least post the percentage of OTS WO new hires at AA to prove your point... or to not prove it.

PSA's current flow is just over 5 years as well. November flows started at PSA in April of 2014 (5 1/2 years).

There have been at least 6 hired at AA outside of the flow so far this year. Of the new hires that were regional pilots, this is a fairly high percentage. Most street hires were military.

So now we can talk percentages. That's 6 out of... what, 600? More? 1 percent or less of AA new hires?

Being that we are about to flow the PSA hiring wave of late 2014 / early 2015, the statistic of a "5 1/2 year flow" is not going to age well. Stay tuned boys and girls. >7-8 years flow statistic is on it's way!

Don’t remind me. I was just looking at the seniority list. When I finally got to my name I gasped. I’ll be in that group being hired right after 2015.

Of regional pilots hired at AA outside of the flow, 6 out of well less than 100.

In the first 8 months of the year, AA has hired less than 600. About 300 were flows, and over 200 were military.

Of the less than 100 left, only a handful were regional airline pilots. 6 of those came from PSA and a similar number from Envoy.

Source: Info received from AA after SkyBall. Military makes up the majority of hires.

A question for the recruiters - what is a good number for flight hours for someone to have before applying? A buddy of mine is nearing 1,000 and is asking me
