I plan on going to PSA in early July and I live between CVG and DAY. Would PSA still be my best option?

In my opinion. Since it’s what? An east 30 minutes to each for you? Your QOL would be relatively higher than those commuting. Being able to walk off that plane, jump in your car, and drive home makes it a completely different company than those who commute. I’d say it’s a good option for you.

PSA is certainly a viable option with the benefit of having two bases within driving distance for their reserve availability windows. Also, you can pick up trips from either base and bid to whichever base suits you (albeit with a 3 month delay).

If you're west of I75 you may be in within driving distance of IND to sit short call at home for Republic's reserve window. If so, they probably provide a better overall QOL ($$, SNJ, no hot res).

I’ll second that! Go to republic way better QOL.

Only downside to RPA is that they don't have classes available till November/December of 2019. If you have the hours that's a long time to wait where you could be getting seniority at another company.

Just don't sign a contract at stop 1 if you need the paycheck right away while you wait on your real class date, or save the bonus payment so you can repay it when the collector comes.

You can be happy here, it's a personal choice. The company and union aren't making it easy (I do believe our new union leadership is seeking real positive change). Are you happier making $36k per year with 11 days off, or $50k per year with 15 off? The pay gap keeps increasing after year 1, especially after upgrade.

Plus you may have to wait longer for class at Republic, but you'll have around a year of FO reserve at PSA where you'll be lucky to fly more than 20 hours a month.

This^, and they have a CMH base which would only be a equally as close to IND, my understanding is CMH is a very junior base with almost no reserve. Then again you have to wait for the training. Just don't sign our bonus contract, and punch out as soon as a class becomes available. You get an extra type rating too.

By joining Republic and waiting out the class date, you’ll be way on the back end of the hiring curve to be honest....
