Please forgive ClearedHot....he's afflicted with a rare condition known as FAC-itis in which he has occasional and short lived bouts of inability to recognize humor (especially internet humor) combined with short outbursts akin to "get off my lawn you damn kids".....the keyboard version of which you have witnessed in this thread. I assure you, ClearedHot is a most amicable, friendly, and congenial fellow and were this thread a discussion taking place in a bar he would be buying a round at some point, because that's his style. You my friend, don't have a clue what you're talking about. A few observations......
1. RTP pilots are an asset to ALL the regionals and are here to stay.
2. You have never walked in our shoes and dealt with the sacrifices over the past 15 years with a 2 front war.
3. Marginal flying skills. You're kidding me right? If you think that being a CFI flying around in the pattern for 1500 hours qualifies an individual more than a RTP pilot, then you are delusional.
4. Professionalism..... Look it up in the dictionary.
5. If you want to have this conversation over a cup of coffee, send me a PM and we can link up in CLT anytime. I'd be more than happy to hear your thoughts on how to improve the program instead of just bashing said individuals who want to make a difference in this industry.

A F-ing-men. Rickshaw you come across as uninformed and holier than thou. Go fly the military side and see how you compare and maybe you’d understand the value RTPers bring. FYI, military guys have been coming to the industry before regionals started the current transition programs and have been doing just fine. OldBills response is spot on

Let's slow our roll here. The guy made a post about his general opinions and observations. Yeah, I generally disagreed with it, but let's be honest. Not every single RTP guy or gal who sits in the right seat is everything described above. I do believe that the strong majority of RTP's are assets to the regionals and beyond, but anyone who has spent more than a couple of weeks in a military aviation unit knows that there are strong aviators and weak aviators. There are those of us who were chosen for advanced flight quals and those of us who weren't, etc etc. Just like the "1500 hour CFI flying around in the pattern"....there are great 121 pilots out there who did that, and not so great ones as well. I served, I had my quals and my time....at this point that entitles me to...specifically in this case, that entitles me to exercise the privileges on my FAA pilot certificate. No more, no less. My point is that as an RTP who has been handed an opportunity that many of us couldn't have dreamed of a year or more ago I am thankful, and recognize that regardless of any previous experience, regardless of service, combat or any of that stuff, I'm still a pretty junior 121 jet pilot. Humility is key. If a few pilots think or speak poorly of RTP's whether legitimate gripes or not, look for criticisms that may apply to ourselves individually or collectively and look to improve. If someone has a poor opinion of RTP's it should be our words, actions, and performance out on the line that change minds, not rants on this forum. That being said....end rant....fly safe.
