The fundamental problem is that SAP is hugely inefficient. Both from a mgmt perspective and a labor one. SAP turns the pilot group into sheep and goats. Mgmt isn’t going to be interested in cost neutral changes because the cost was a problem pre-covid.

only way this really works is another jets for jobs deal. MEC accepts a contract that reduces unit cost and in exchange AA gives psa a bunch more flying so that Everyone on property is made whole by becoming more senior and the “losers” are the new hires.

Jets for jobs in a sense we give up SAP or we lose our Jobs. Giving us a lose/lose situation. It’ll happen here before Christmas, hoping I’m wrong.

Frankly I think any chance of trading sap for something that improves things is gone. We didn't strike while the iron was hot, now it's cold as ice.

I figure giving up sap now will be a choice forced upon us in the next few months. Trade sap for pbs and let management set the terms, or AA will shut us down. This is the reality of negotiations, if you don't act when you have the leverage then expect to get screwed.

You think AA shuts PSA down over SAP and/or PBS?

I’ll not criticize the MEC for failing to foresee COVID.

And yes AA might close PSA over SAP. The unpredictable ability for half the workforce to take the same day off is a HUGE cost.

They’re gonna be hunting cash for many more months.

They've threatened psa before, so I won't put it past them to do it again.

But truly I'm just venting my frustration over here, if I actuality had a clue what was actually gonna happen I'd just go play the lottery instead lol.

you don’t think they will try and bring you back down to that level? You need to re-study history. Where have you been?

PSA’s cost problems are deeper than just SAP and labor costs.
