I could end up eating my words, but I doubt that Dion would have said we are not opening any bases if it were in the plans in the near future. Otherwise, no one would ever believe anything he says in the future. He probably would have deflected or danced around the question if that were the case. Just a guess. I would think the more likely reason for hiring is attrition, combined with some relaxing of scope for the next year. As a result, more regional flying...

Mesa’s performance is bad. But it’s been bad for years. There is a reason they’re cheap and their labor contracts are only a piece of that equation. I’m not trying to tear them down, they have good ALPA Pilot’s over there who are doing the same thing we’re doing... Trying to pay the bills.
Anyway... If DFW happens it would likely be at the expense of PSA flying somewhere else. There really isn’t any clear way for PSA to grow right now.

It doesn't make any sense as to why we're pushing through 2 classes a month of 30 each if we're not growing. I get it that some of the hiring is due to attrition, but we didn't lose 600 pilots.
