I have heard that as a possibility. A few questions that I would hope a flow committee member could answer:
1. Would discrimination mean no hires from wholly owned, or would we consider controlled hiring as discrimination?
2. What number would we sue for? Unlimited flow, hard number, percentage of class?
3. Assuming the need for a lawyer, who would pay the lawyers? ALPA or individuals.
4. Can a discrimination case be filed without a lawyer?
I support an agreement with mainline to hire more wholly owned members (Pilot and FA). It seems a natural progression for those that have been in the US Airways Group for years and understand the US Airways system. Getting bean counters to add value to that intangible..there is a challenge. I still wonder what is our flow committee progress?

It's not going to matter in a year or two. PSA can stop you from going to mainline but not delta ,united,FedEx, ext.

Yes but refusing to hire psa captains only increases stagnation for those looking to upgrade and go to delta, FedEx, united.

Yeah, but what if they want to go to mainline US Airways? You're cursed if you work for PSA.

Any thoughts on what will become of PSA in a merger?

Well it's no secret that 50 seaters aren't wanted, so look for those to be gone as soon as the leases are up. 700's will find a home somewhere, probably AE. What happens to the pilots is anyone's guess. Maybe they'll try to merge us into AE before the reduction or maybe they'll just comair us. No one has an answer, and my guess is that Parker doesn't even have plan for us yet, so no need to speculate. It's out of your and my control so just prepare for the worst and wait to see.

This is why it is crucial for us to pursue a flow through or some type of other protection in the event of a comair-type episode.

Well youre free to pursue anything you like. Keep in mind though that airways is only taking one psa pilot who actually interviewed and got hired per class to prevent a staffing issue at psa. To think that they will be open to some sort of flow is naive in my opinion.
