I Love PSA

I think they all say "My airline sucks more than yours..." Welcome to 2009
But at least we have travel benefits right? I mean all they are good for is paying a full fare ticket and using your badge to go right through security.

I'm just waiting for someone to say "my CP can beat up your CP."
The one nice thing about being furloughed right now is not having to listen to all the rumors. I've said it once and I will say it again. Rumors are like a#$holes, every company has a few.

I looked it up.
I think you were missing one key point. Piedmont doesn't fly 70 seat aircraft. In fact, only 20% of PDTs current fleet is 50 seat aircraft.
More pax should always equate to a higher hourly rate.
That said, if you look at pay, compared to # of pax flown - the results go the other way.
Fleets:
PSA 14 700s, 35 200s = avg 55.7 seats
PDT 11 300s, 44 100s = avg 39.6 seats
Note: The payscales on APC are out of date, but for the sake of your argument I used the numbers from those scales anyhow.
Year 1 FO
PSA $24/55.7seats = $0.43/seat/hr
PDT $25/39.6seats = $0.63/seat/hr
Year 3 FO
PSA $33/55.7seats = $0.59/seat/hr
PDT $31/39.6seats = $0.78/seat/hr
Note 2: Because the PDT CA Rates are not 'blended' i figured what the blended rate would be based on a CA flying 20% of his hours on a 50 seater. For a 20 year CA, this comes out to $69/hr.
Year 6 CA
PSA: $72/55.7seats = $1.29/seat/hr
PDT: $54/39.6seats = $1.36/seat/hr
Year 12 CA
PSA: $86/55.7seats = $1.54/seat/hr
PDT: $62/39.6seats = $1.68/seat/hr
Year 20 CA
PSA: $96/55.7seats = $1.72/seat/hr
PDT: $69/39.6seats = $1.74/seat/hr
I hope this will help to dispel the notion that PDT guys are even further underpaid than the folks at PSA. With respect to hourly wages, PSA pilots rightfully make more money per hour because you fly larger aircraft, but pound for pound the PDT guys are clearly holding the bar up just as high.

Phuz you forgot to add
Year 1 FO
PSA $24/55.7seats = $0.43/seat/hr
PDT $25/39.6seats = $0.63/seat/hr
NWA $52/403seats=$0.129/seat/hr (747)
NWA$52/150seats=$0.346/seat/hr(MD90)
UA$32/374seats=$0.085/seat/hr(747)
At the end of the day I don't care how many seats are behind me. I care about the number of dollars heading to my bank account.

Your absolutely right, my whole point was that you can't just come out and say "PSA Pays Better than PDT" - without first considdering that PSA and PDT fly different size airframes. With respect to squeezing the most blood out of the turnip, I think the PDT guys have done their part in holding the bar up, so I dont think its right to minimalize the pay at PDT.
