I guess i better get my applications in to those truck driving schools. Personally the longer I wait to get called back, the less I want to go back. If I can get a better paying job in the next few months you fellas who are below me might just have one less person to worry about.

A better paying job could honestly be anything. You could get a gig waiting tables or bartending and make way more cash.

That's true. Right now I make more money working the line at the FBO. Sad but then again, pay is sad at the airlines.

What about Kirby and crewnews? What was said?

That Airways doesn't want Mesa to liquidate and that they doubt they will. Also said they are trying to get Mesa to get rid of the -200 flying they do for Airways by having Mesa cutthe leases in BK court and possibly restructure the -900 contract but they do not want to be rid of Mesa. Also Parker said they basically need Mesa, and that while Delta and United are trying to get rid of them, Airways will continue to be a partner.

For Mesa to continue to exist, they would essentially have to become a 30-40 aircraft airline, since they are losing their United and Delta flying. I doubt that a US Airways contract alone is enough to keep them from liquidating. That being said, if Mesa does liquidate, then it would be super hard for Airways to replace that flying. Republic is stretched thin right now with their new aquisitions to pick up that much extra flying and aircraft at once. Airways is short on cash, so I don't see how they could afford to buy the planes for PSA/ Piedmont. Plus, it would take months to hire and train crews for those aircraft. Airways only option is to hope Mesa survives, or else start hiring more pilots now and beefing up PSA to get ready to cover new aircraft (if they can even afford to obtain them). If Mesa goes belly up, and Airways doesn't have a plan in place, they will be in a world of hurt.

You know, we are just dumb pilots and know nothing about running an airline. But....we all know and have known that Mesa was in trouble. If US airways doesn't have a plan just in case then they need to be replaced. How can you be running a multi billion dollar airline and not have plans in place? It all points to Mesa staying in business with just 900's. Then growing from there.

After parking unused aircraft, Mesa will have 101 aircraft under contract:

* 6 Bombardier Dash-8s with US Airways
* 8 Bombardier CRJ-200s with US Airways
* 5 Bombardier CRJ-200s with go!
* 22 Embraer ERJ-145s with Delta
* 2 Embraer ERJ-145s subleased out
* 20 Bombardier CRJ-700s with United
* 38 Bombardier CRJ-900s with US Airways
