After watching both Kirby and Parker's crew news visits in PHX and CLT, it is very apparent that they are KEEPING Mesa and there 900's around. Mesa is not going anywhere in terms of US Airways flying. In fact, this BK is good for them because "we (Parker and Airways) will re-negotiate the terms of the contract." In laymens terms, get that flying even CHEAPER!! So, for PSA and PDT, we will continue to fly the ole clt-pgv routes and Mesa will continue flying to DAL, IAH and then on to PHX where they are welcomed with open arms! I just do not get it! SO the pipe dream of bigger aircraft coming onto property, is after all, just that, a dream. Besides, our current MEC feels that 900's belong at Mainline. But, what do I know, after all, I am just another dumb regional pilot!
It was also interesting to hear Parker saying that among the big 5, Airways is the most vulnerable if the market were to tank again, and that consolidation is the only way for Airways to survive. With that said, we all know that PSA and PDT will not be part of that package!

I finished Truck Driving School last month. I believe that is the next industry to collapse! Look what Arrow trucking did last month! Now it looks like Roadway and Yellow freight might go under leaving tens of thousands of truck drivers looking for work. Most trucking companies will not hire anyone with less than 2 years on the road experience. I should have spent that tuition money on nursing school!

I agree with our MEC. Those 900's belong at mainline if the company is not willing to pay us a proper wage to fly them. I am not willing to fly larger aircraft for pathetic pay like Republic does. I want to preserve the future of my career. Those 900's have no place here if they can't pay us properly to fly them.

Would you now go through all over again to be an Airline Pilot again?

I am in the pool. So from what I am hearing I should be redirecting my focus elsewhere. When an "elsewhere" does develope. Is there any hope for PSA to pick up after summer? Other than APC is there another way to keep up with what is going on at PSA?

MtJoe, at this point I would say if you have something else that comes along, go with it. I'm sure you have read enough of the forums on APC to see that things change a lot. Right now I am one of the furloughed pilots from PSA. I've been furloughed since August 31st of 2008. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they recall this spring. But with the LOA's going on right now, I don't know if that is going to happen. As far as things picking up after the summer, well they usually slow down after the summer. I don't want to sound like a debbie downer. I wish you and the rest of the poolies the best of luck. But for right now I would say sit tight it might be a long ride.
