PSA New Hire Class

Not defending anything in PSA'S new contract as I don't know anything about it but at airways we have pilots from all the "bottom feeders", so having PSA on your resume doesn't mean squat to a major airlines HR team.

Mesa got 900's.
In 2011 we just negotiated rates and Airways decided to buy 10% of Mesa (in bankruptsy) and give them flying.
April 2013 we finally got a new contract with 900 rates at industry average. Keep in mind that we fly all 3 aircraft types. So when we fly a 200 we get a rate based on 200/700/900.
Yes there are plenty of Items in the TA that wasn't good.
But...
We are in a different situation than eagle. Or envoy.
The threat may not be real to shut down Envoy. But it was for PSA.
I voted no and have to live with what the majority voted.
So... I'm working my schedule. Flying 65 hrs and getting paid 140.
So I made $177/hr for May. Industry leading isn't it?
My advice is be happy with what you voted and concentrate on the the good parts you can control.

People whine about PSA taking concessions and officially it may look like it. But AAG kept their word and we are hiring 400 extra pilots that will make a lot more at PSA than most if not all other regionals. I've also voted no but in hindsight, we've actually raised the average pay at regional. Granted that SAP would've been implemented whether we voted the TA in or not, but had the majority voted no, PSA would've been their most expensive wholly owned. Parker would've disbanded us in a heartbeat.

We have things that make up for it and more.
I would pit my QoL against any other regional right now.
Unfortunately I'll be back on reserve with no QoL next month so maybe I'll come complain a bit.

2007 we voted NO for reduced rates to fly 900's.

You may personally make more money through loopholes/sap/trip trading...whatever, but everyone is upset about the horrible LANGUAGE and RATES you agreed to because that is what all other airline managements are now using as a club to beat down other pilot groups.

Just like how AAG pitted pinnacle's 4/12 cap on us but we still ended up making more. I say give management what they want but ask for sap. If they want to use psa's contract against your negotiations, then don't take out the single best item in our contract.

Your "RATES" argument was debunked in the very post you quoted.
Our overall pilot cost is well above many regionals on a per pilot basis due to favorable "LANGUAGE."
I would be willing to bet if your union told AAG management they would accept a carbon copy of PSA's contract AAG would say "no way."

What "LANGUAGE" are you referring to?
