I don't believe this at all. We are under 3 yr upgrade now but just barely. Yes it will get even shorter but there are many previous 121 guys that want to upgrade and there are many that bypassed the upgrade because they want to wait until they can hold a line as CA first. If the upgrades stay at 8 every 2 weeks we will never see street captains.

I think he's agreeing with you that we won't need to hire street captains anytime soon.
Funny thing is, we've technically hired a whole bunch of street captains. Granted these are all ex comair guys that really knows their stuff. And considering what they've been through, I'm okay with them upgrading right away and teaching sim, instead of starting from year one FO pay elsewhere after being a captain for over a decade. Anyone else then we've got a problem.

Gotcha. And as for the instructors I don't care as long as they aren't out flying the line and reducing the need for captain upgrades.

I find it rather amusing when the instructors fly the line. I find it more amusing that they are hiring a bunch of Comair guys to be sim instructors.

Commutair is not a bad deal if you like the northeast and the dash.
So........ you may not have it as bad as you think you do.
