So based on the trend in the chart how much do you see these reserve times reducing in the coming year... I know many different factors. Just like to get different view points. ie brand new hire today staying in one base all the way to R1 and then upgrade.

I think the CLT CA BU has a typo. I'm a June '14 hire and was at the top of RD2 for CLT CA's.

There are October 2014 that were given BUs. Their SCR was converted to additional BUs.

So this is where the hot reserve comes in? So if a person doesnt make their two legs to get to their trip, the hot reserve gets burned.

In that case, if you are the hot reserve in DCA and you have to pick up the leg of the guy that missed his commutes and you fly a DCA-PHL leg, what do they do with you then? Does the hot reserve DH back to his base or do they flow him in elsewhere?
They utilize hot reserves for last minute callouts. Missed commutes, sick calls, emergencies, crews out of position, crews timing out, etc. Pretty much whatever they want but that's the point, to plug the holes that pop open on short notice.

If the lineholder is able to rejoin the trip, they are required to have him join up asap in base, or DH him from base to wherever he can join. Usually easier to do in base because then they can assign the reservist something else.
