Contrary to what PSA Help says, not everyone who is a round one line holder will get every single holiday and weekend off with SAP. Just not possible.

As far as hotels, the company would love to put us right next to the airport in every city. The former hotel committee chairman did a great job not letting that happen. Time will tell with the new chairman.

Yes, essentially you could drop all your trips and create a request with a whole new schedule.

The problem that arises is that the SAP opentime is technically not real time (as they say it is). Trips in the pot may already be on a pilots request that is above you, so if his is accepted, the trip is gone and any request that you has that included that trip gone. Where the problem comes is if you try to drop all your trips and pickup new ones on a single request, if one of the trips you wanted is already taken, that whole request gets denied.

I suppose you could create 10 different requests dropping your entire month on each request, but that's a lot of work. Personally I find it a ton easier to just do a trip or two at a time, and work it that way. Usually in the first 5 minutes of the SAP opening, I put in anywhere from 5 to 20 requests of various traders. Even if I wanted to drop a single trip I'll put in 5 different requests, each a different option to drop that trip.

Also, as far as vacation, the SAP works wonders. Just used a single week of vacation time and was able to get 21 days straight off between the blend and only working 2 trips next month, still crediting over 75 hours.

You can be "trained to proficiency" on a checkride. Let's say you bomb your flapless landing. You can leave checkride mode and enter training mode where you can work on what you did wrong and get proficient again. Then you reenter checkride mode to recheck that item and demonstrate that task satisfactorily. You can do that on 2 different items, and if you bust a third item then your ride is unsat. Also, if you bust the "recheck" of an item then your ride is unsat, even if it was the first item you goofed on.

So to sum it up, your ride is unsat if you bust 3 items, or 1 item twice.

Don't expect to upgrade right at 1000 hours. 2 years is a good estimate but not once you hit 1000.

Schedule adjustment period. A great tool for round 1 line holders. Allows them to adjust their awarded schedule by adding, dropping, and swapping trips more or less freely for a 24 hour period. Has its problems but an amazing tool.

Awesome - thanks! Trying to figure this out with zero 121 experience. I can't tell the difference in what are policies and what are the actual scheduling interfaces.

How long does it take for a new hire to hold CLT these days? I tried to look back in the previous posts to find the answer but may have missed it. Thanks.
