By default, I vote for smaller government, lower taxes, less regulation. It's an immediate NO vote if anything being voted on violates those three principles.
Government only consumes and asks for more, government only grows larger and fights vehemently at any attempt to reduce size, and the number of laws only increase with epic battles required to remove them.
Nip the bud early, it's the only way...

Why can't Alaska use some of their Permanent Fund from oil revenues for EAS? It has now grown to to $57.5 billion!

I think it's amazing that in this day and age there's this much debate about cutting one program.
19 trillion in federal debt, created equally by both parties. We have to start somewhere right? But, I guess not. There's always some sob story, someone getting the short end of the stick, someone getting screwed.
It's unfortunate because it's going to be this generation (our generation) that will have to pay for it.

And it will be more than $1.00.

Technically, for someone making $80k a year, EAS is almost exactly $1. Now, let's talk about end of the fiscal year waterfall money they happens in the military and other government agencies. Use it or lose it is exactly what it is wrong with government aquisitions.

That wasn't the ironic part. It was his suggestion to not build time using tax dollars by joining an organization 100% funded by tax dollars.
