I grew up in SoCal, surfed for 15 years before I was coldly plucked from my daily paradisical ritual and place elsewhere where the only wave I see is from the kids when I am back on the road. So I am a surfer to the core. Longboards Rule.

I'm sure that there are surfers out there making far more than any of us pilots.
Back to the topic, aren't there company standards on dress and appearance that address these points? Are they not being enforced? Seems like way too easy of a way for management to beat up a pilot group during contract time. Why give them the ammo?
I can't believe I'm actually agreeing with Saab on something.....

I don't use my MP3 in the terminal ever, but there is nothing in the FOM that says it's unprofessional. Furthermore music can be the means for someone to relax after a couple of crappy legs.
I've always laughed off your silly comments, but I take it personal when you come out here and try to judge your brothers and sisters. Why don't you wait 'til you get off probation before you start running your mouth?

Only 2 kinds of people wear sunglasses inside.
1. Blind people
2. A**holes

Dude you've been here less than a year and your passing judgement on your brothers and sisters in a public forum? Why don't you post this on our crackpipe?

As far as pilots wearing sunglasses inside, I don't agree with it either as makes the person look less approachable, but once again show me any FOM that forbids it. Maybe the guy didn't sleep well the night before, and thought it looked better to walk around with sunglasses than to walk around in uniform with two big circles under his eyes.
Sloppy uniform and poor grooming is one thing, but you guys should be in the fashion business the way you scrutinize your fellow brothers and sisters.
