Hey I’m with you man and hopefully Skywest realizes that if they don’t match the pay of the other guys they will lose a lot of people and im not sure exactly how it works but since there’s no union I’m assuming management can just give y’all the pay raise without a lot of bureaucracies but I already decided on Skywest because of other reasons not just pay. My questions were specifically about the airframes. It’s like everyone ignored the fact that I asked about the airframes and immediately focused on the fact that I chose Skywest. Maybe it was the damn thread title.🤔

The post wasn’t meant as a “hey look at me, I chose SKywest” it was a legitimate attempt to get some real answers from SKYWEST pilots who are currently flying the line not a recruiter. I honestly don’t care what the opinion is about the company I care about what the opinion is on the airframes. PS I did try reading a few posts but none of the ones I found had what I was looking for. If you don’t like what I asked, move on you don’t have to respond.
Sorry you stumbled into a hornets nest of ****ed off, disgruntled, and mostly NON Skywest pilots who think they're going to change the company by posting useless garbage and rants about how bad they think Skywest is. Sitting around *****ing and complaining about everything under the sun without offering anything other than criticism.
Skywest isn't perfect by any means, but it's still not a bad place to be, especially if you're starting out or moving into 121 ops. Flying wise, Skywest has an excellent record and the mainliners like it. You'll fly your a** off after a few short months on reserve and probably get the base you prefer. As far as airplanes to choose from, choose the one that gets you closer or exactly what you want. CRJ bases are shifting a little eastward and the ERJ bases are mainly west. CRJ will probably get you a faster upgrade if you're willing to move Midwest or east. As far as turbine time goes, both are equal in the logbook.
We have great people here. Most everyone is willing to help. You'll do fine.

I gave him advice and pointed him to places he can research it for himself, as did most of the other posters. The helpless attitude, thin skin, and rejecting advice from people is not going to help him be successful in training or on the line.

It would help to know where you want to live. West coast, ERJ, midwest/atlanta, CRJ. You can get pretty much anything within a few months base wise except SLC/IAH/SAN/BOI/FAT/PHX those will take longer. If you want SAN/BOI, ERJ is the only option. If you want IAH/DTW/MSP/ATL/SLC/COS/TUS/PSP/PHX, CRJ is your only option. Upgrade time is irrelevant of airframe, you can upgrade into another, however you will get your 1000 121 time faster on CRJ. You will sit reserve longer on ERJ. ERJ schedules are better by a small margin. Do not choose the ERJ for VNAV and A/T's.

Thank you, as far as scheduling flexibility, is the crj better because there’s more of them or is it the same ???

Theres a lot of us here who think that, it's disgusting.

This place sucks... my chief pilot asked for a ****ing doctors note. This is not high school. You don't go to the doctor for a cold.

We don't get half the stuff ya'll get everywhere else. $37/hr and no bonus for new guys...sad.

****ing microsoft tablets.

Then they'll email us about how big their d*** is, and that we need to sit reserve on our days off cuz they can't figure out how to recruit pilots
