So it looks like currently xjet has 170 airframes with 34 crj700s according to this site. Sounds like if they want to keep it 170, wouldn't they replace the 700s from xjet? Seems like that makes the most sense.

The -700’s are going away. UAL doesn’t like them. So yes.
They also want to bring more -145s out of th desert.

The 700s that Expressjet flies are not UAX. They are split between American Eagle and Delta Connection.

Ahh got it. Is that the asa side? Is xjet going to be strictly 145s soon plus this potential ejet order and the 20 200s?

ExpressJet is moving exclusively to UAL flying. UAL has to keep under scope. UAL doesn’t want to keep the CRJ-700. Ergo, the XJT -700’s (currently flown for DAL and AAL), have to go away.
The only limit to the -145s that can be brought out of the desert is the pilots needed to fly them.

United is capped out on 70 seaters and 76 seaters by United’s pilot contract. Their only option is to swap out 70 seaters for 70 seaters. These E175’s are the 70 seat E175SC variant.

GoJet is the logical place where these will come from. GoJet has exactly 25 700’s. SkyWest just received a renewal on their 700’s. The only other 700’s out there are ones that are on CPA from Mesa. So, I guess it is possible the loss could be a split of 700’s between GoJet and Mesa.

I see now. That makes more sense. Sure is a bummer they won't fly the 175s at mainline. I know the united pilots are pulling for them. They could also add more small narrow bodies and not have to get rid of the 700s but that doesn't seem likely either.

United doesn’t like the CRJ700’s. It won’t surprise me United eliminates 45 of them over the next 2 years. They have to keep the SkyWest ones because they are the only aircraft that has the single engine climb performance for Aspen.
