But what if he didn’t have a LW 22?

Pretty much so. About 90% accuracy.

Guess I’m a terrible storyteller. As I stated in the original post, the Air whisky guy initially behind me says that he was doing the same as me to the agent. So I guess he knew I was a pilot when he heard my conversation with the agent and goes “ah yeah, I’m doing the same as her.” Maybe our matching stuffed 50# luggage works bag steal bag didn’t give it away. Yeah, I’m a female pilot not in uniform, asking for the jumpseat, so I must not be a pilot and asking about an FA JS. Even if I was in uniform, 50% of the time the gate agent will still assume I’m asking about the FA jump and I have to reiterate the FLIGHTDECK to them si it is heard. Another story for another day. And don’t come to any conclusions, the AirWisc guy even asks me who I work for and if I had already listed, and I tell him, “ah, isn’t it first come first serve?”

My apologies, that definitely clears things up. Dick move on his part. You should have your JS people talk to the ZW jumpseat people. Guys like that make the rest of us look bad.

On turns I make it a point to check the gate area when picking up paperwork and see if there are any pilots trying to get a ride. Introduce myself and ask them to please say hello when they get down so I know they made it on. If not I’m running up there to make sure we fill that js. Had quite a few gate agents purposefully deny people the JS and tell me we had no jumpseaters.

*NEVER do what the guy in the OP’s post did. I don’t care if it’s technically okay to do, it isn’t your world and we’re not all just living in it. Be kind, be respectful, be courteous. Especially to other professional pilots. People notice and it’s a small industry. Don’t be a jerk.

Number three reminds me of a time I was almost left in DCA. I was trying to get released from CS and therefore didn’t take a seat when my name was called. Sat on hold for over 20 mins trying to get released. By the time I had gotten released the gate agent had already closed the door and walked down the jet bridge. The awesome Captain from Republic saw me standing up in the gate area and walked up to ask if I needed a ride. He saved me from an expensive hotel that night in the DC area. I will never forget that!

Fake news.

That’s not what the new proposed policy is at all. That is “fake news” if there ever was any.

UAX pilots will have priority on their own metal followed by UAL pilots. A United pilot will not take priority over a pilot on his own company’s jumpseat.

Can you produce any evidence at all that UAL mainline is trying to bump regional pilots off their own metal. You made the statement now please back it up. If not post a apology and retraction.
