YOUR Top 5 Regionals to work for

I'm not anti-CHQ, but I wouldn't look at the company through rose colored glasses either. There are a lot of underlying issues that I think prospective pilots (and even pilots from other airlines) don't see. I saw too many FOs willing to put up with a lot of what was happening because they wanted the quick upgrade with the assumption things would get better. Despite the problems, it's not the worse place unlike some of the other regionals out there, but IMO it's not the best either. I had some great times while I was there, but the bad experiences were really starting to outweigh the good when I left.

Man I wish they'd call me for an interview. Granted, I submitted my app less than 1 week ago... but I can't stand the suspense
Think Linda would be mad if I emailed her directly?

ExpressJet, Skywest, Horizon, etc. may be listed as majors by the DOT- but do any of them, with the exception of ExpressJet on a limited basis, do anything other than feed a major? They're just subcontractors. What happens to any of us when our respective "pimp" airline fails?
So let's get realistic here..... UA is a major, AS is a major, CO is a major, AA is a major..... XJT, CHQ, SKW, AE are not.

I wouldn't even compare SWA to what the regionals are like. Even the flying is nothing like the regionals, although people like to say it is.

Penair = Good QOL, pay, management, happy employees, day schedules (no layovers) beautiful summer flying, skiing and the best Salmon fishing anywhere!
Cons: Tourists from New York! (those from Alaska know what I mean!)
SkyWest = Good (western) Bases, management, happy employees. fast upgrades.
Horizon = Great Bases, happy employees (captains), con: SLOW Upgrades!
Yeah I'm a Westerner. Pardner!

As far as I understand it a lot of Horizon's flying is their own. A friend of mine works there and explained it like most of their flying is for Alaska, but about 40 percent is "native route." Of course they're owned by Alaska Air Group so it all goes in the same pot.

Okay- so lets go to management and ask newhire FO pay to be $70/hr on a 50 seat jet.
