And probably more as a few regionals consolidate in the coming years. To direct hate towards an airline that “stole” your flying that you never owned in the first place just shows you have no idea how the business world operates. There will be more Comairs. There will be more airlines that get the shaft like Envoy. And as Envoy will gladly tell you PSA will probably figure out how to screw us all once again. The day flying stops getting shifted around is the day regionals cease to exist, which I don’t think is ever going to happen.

As far as PSA taking over Envoy in DFW... that is not the rumor. The rumor is we may be merging with or taking Mesa’s flying. We both operate CRJs. We operate roughly 140 airplanes with almost 2000 pilots. Mesa operates almost 20 MORE airplanes with only 1200 pilots. Something is at play. Don’t worry. Envoy is completely safe in DFW. Especially with them undercutting the entire industry with their low wages. (Sarcasm with eye roll).

This is what I believe as well.

Over at Envoy we saw a blowup of lines increasing in DFW for the 175. That replaces Mesa’s 175 flying as well.

The 145 out of DFW are the guys that get affected. I’m on the 175, and with that said if PSA once again undercuts the pilot group then it will affect those guys. That is gonna be one view point.

On the other hand, we may not see an impact and PSA takes SKW and MESA flying, that’s an idea that I think is the most realistic as AA has been ON RECORD that they want to bring flying in house to have more profitable gains. So that’s what I believe PSA has business being in DFW

What does Mesa United owner 175s in Houston have to do with envoy and American in Dallas?

American has spent the last years expanding contract flying while shrinking envoy flying so it will take a lot of “wanting to bring flying in house to have more profitable gains“ just to get back to what was normal.

What? American has literally done the exact opposite. PSA and Piedmont took over the Air Wisconsin and Trans States flying. Envoy picked up the slack in LGA. Envoy isn’t really shrinking as much as it’s staying about where it is for now. Envoy gets 175s and sends 145s to Piedmont and 700s to PSA.

The plan I think has been (for years now) for Envoy to eventually be all E175, Piedmont to be all E145s, and PSA to be all CRJ 7/900. If PSA grows in DFW it will most likely be at the expense of Mesa. And I would imagine you’d see PSA, Envoy, and SkyWest likely to pick up all the Mesa flying if AA decides to end their flying with them.

AA would likely transfer the AA-owned 900s being flown by Mesa to PSA and as the contracts on the remaining 900s come up they would be replaced by new 175s at Envoy. So if anything I think Envoy will likely grow in DFW as well if any such scenario played out like that. Meanwhile more 145s would be transferred to Piedmont to cover more short east coast flying.

I said envoy.

I guess if you have only been in the game since 2016 sure or went to PSA at the right time it's all been roses, but 2011 wasn't that long ago.

This is how the scenario goes down in my opinion as well.

You said Envoy. Then bring charts from time when Envoy didn't exist in its current form.

2011 was 8 (EIGHT) years ago, that's a long time. It was also pre-merger pre-bankruptcy pre-Eagle contractual battles and subsequent shrinking etc.

In the past few years, as your charts show, AA has been increasing the amount of flying done by WO regionals, and shrinking the contract carriers share. This trend very likely will continue.

Yeah didn’t OO just ink some AA 700 flying in DFW not too long ago? And I don’t thing that flying was a very “short term” contract.

Did you find a factual error in that post?
