Does anyone know if Mesaba is starting any street captains in the Jan 28 class? I can't wait to start.

Thanks!

Dont think so because it is a 200 class, but that info will be out on the 21st I believe.

There are no street Captains in the Jan 28th class. In fact, MSP was overstaffed, so Mesaba is releasing the seat lock for this vacancy to decrease the number of Saab CA's in MSP by 14.

I know its hard to predict the hiring forcast but i am curious to know what people think as to how many FO they will hire between now til may or june. I have read in a previous post they want around 1300 pilots and maybe up to 1800, but that could be a rumor as well. Also, what is usually the size's of each class that they have and how many classes do they have per month as of lately.

I think 1100-1200 total pilots is a realistic guess, 1800 would be too many for around 100 aircraft. Unless of course we get more planes after the 36 CR9 and 17 CR2.

The list is up to about 1000 now so my prediction is hiring will slow after April.

Classes run every 2 weeks and varies in size but on average I would guess 20 new hires. However the newest vacancy only had a 12 CR2 FO's so it certainly does vary.

I am just guessing on the 1100-1200 total pilots and the hiring slowing in April, so take it for what it is worth.

Attrition is starting to go back up again, I think we had a couple retirements as well. If the flowthrough keeps going hiring will continue for a long time.

Well I hope that the hiring slow down is only a temporary thing. I know I got a feb. 25th class date for the CRJ-200 and hope that I am not the last. As far as pilot numbers I have heard anything from 1300 to 2000 pilot operation. What I had heard is that they got a CRJ-200 sim that is only a CRJ-200 sim(not able to switch to a 900 sim). So does that mean more 200's are going to be coming to mesaba? Anyway I think the biggest thing right now is that we have enough people to fly the aircraft but as more aircraft do hit the fleet we will go back to hiring plus what other people have said as far as attrition with the flow through to NWA, retirement, and people leaving for other carriers, that will make movement still possible with in the company.

Like stated before, 2000 pilots is not likely unless we get a lot of more aircraft. IMO 1200 looks like the most with the aircraft we are suppose to get. I was also under the assumption that the 200 simulator could be converted to a 900 sim? not sure about that.

We have a 900 Sim coming as well, but not until the fall.

I'm in the March 10th CRJ-900 class. Do you know where they are sending people for the SIM?
