That leaves only the freedom CRJ's......
Atleast some one else actually understands the scope limits of the JPWA as well.

Yes. There is room for a few 70 seaters to be added, but not 76 seaters. In fact they must get rid of 4 between all the carriers.
JPWA
120-76 seat
255-51+ seat(inclusive of the 120 76 seat)

I will admit to not knowing that much of the new Delta scope language. I do know that there are 23, 76 seaters available under the NWA scope clause.

Now if you tell me that there are no more available under the Delta contract, I believe you cause I don't know. However there isn't a merger yet and I can still hope for more.

Honestly, I guess I would like to see us (XJ) get to two fleet types. 900's and about 100 SAAB replacements. I would REALLY like for mainline to get a DC9 replacement, so some guys above me will take the flow. I am too old to go so I would like to be a captain with a descent schedule.

BroncoBird,

I'm in the about the same boat...applied on Sept 29th and I'm still waiting...I live below the MIZAR arrival corridor into DTW so everytime I look up there's another NWA or Mesaba flight coming over head. It's kinda hard to take your mind off of it.

no reply, dear john letter, or interview date...nothing yet.

I like that vibe right there. But take the word Captain and replace it with better FO schedule for me. Gotta spend time with the kids.

No slowdown from what I heard, the hiring is supposed to extend until early next eyar. Two classes per month, but not sure how many in each class.

Couple questions...

How is the trip trading program at Mesaba? Is the staffing adequate to shuffle trips and or personal drop once in awhile?

How is the commutability of the MSP lines for both SAAB and the CRJ200 or 900?

Is it PBS or do you have a committee that builds the lines?

Thanks much.

How is the trip trading program at Mesaba? Paper/Fax (sucks)

Is the staffing adequate to shuffle trips and or personal drop once in awhile? Almost always.

Is it PBS or do you have a committee that builds the lines? PBS is "supposidly" in the works but we do paper bidding right now. Lines are built by the company.

Thanks! Sounds like your pilot group needs a pilot forum. (Disregard - just found yours)

Hate to be the party pooper, but take a look at when their contract is amendable, and imagine when the fleet reduction(furloughs) will happen, prior to the saab replacements coming on board....

With the new aircraft came a 6 year contract, so we are amendable in 3+ years.

Considering nothing happens that fast I suspect that the SAAB replacements could come later than that. The only but in the issue is whether or not "Delta" or "Northwest" require more 70+ seat aircraft. The only way that can happen with the scope on 70+ seat jets is to do a 70+ seat turboprop. A Q400 is plenty fast and has plenty of range to replace the AVRO and we flew those things all over the place.

Mesaba could really save some money on salaries, there are many senior jet Capts. that would go to a Q400.

Or they could honestly take out six seats out of a 900, and presto!!!! No more scope issues. They could also take out two rows of coach and add on row of first class, and once again they are below the scope limit. All these guys claiming that scope is ironclad keep forgetting that it limits the seats and the weight but not the aircraft. The 900 is below the weight limit (87000ish i believe) and changing seating configuration is not that difficult, as in reality it started out as a 90 aircraft, and ironically I believe mainline had a scope clause to some effect on 90 seat aircraft?
