I applied a week after you and nothing but I noticed my app was updated a few days later. Not sure if it was looked at or not? But I did just update mine today. I had put that I could start on the 3rd of November because I wasn't sure when I would be furloughed from Mesa, but it now looks like my date is this Sunday the 19th so I put I could now start on Oct 27. This give me a week to get my things in order. But I'm not sure if by updating it puts me at the back or on the top? Hmmm.....

Nov. 3 Class
I'll throw the invite out for anyone in the Nov. 3 class - PM or IM me... it'd be nice to get to know a few prior to the class... I'm looking forward to it.

Got the Dear John letter as well today.

What are they looking for? Congrats to those who at least got an interview, and no offense, but is this too much time?

Submitted the online app Friday morning.
Again, read previous posts. Seems higher-time dudes are getting the "dear John" email.

No, it's not. I'm not sure what they are looking for, but my times were over 1400TT 650ME and 121 time and I got hired.

I'll make a comment as it relates to my current professional (non-piloting) experience. I know that hours are important when it comes to "landing" airline jobs (no pun intended)... but in addition to hours, it comes down to how you presented yourself during the interview - and not just the interview - but how you carried yourself throughout the day - exams, sim eval, etc. Does your skill-base AND personality/character match what the company is looking for?
I have no idea what Mesaba looks for in regards to character - but I do know they continue to consider lower time pilots in addition to those that meet and exceed minimums.
In my current profession, we definitely look to see if candidates meet posted criteria that relates to the job position - but during an interview, I (and others that I work with) can certainly tell whether or not an individual will make a good fit for the organization.
Don't take this the wrong way - especially since I have no idea how everyone interviewed here - but I would certainly keep that in mind as something that may or may not have been considered in the process.

I got the thanks, but no thanks email this morning. No one inside, but about 4900TT, 1800 PIC turbine, 121 time and 3 types (one being a CL-65sic). So I dunno what they want, but I'm kinda bummed to not even be able to come in for an interview at this time.
