Other then street Captains hired a while back, have any FOs been bypassed for upgrade in favor of a less senior but more experienced FO ?

"Hi! Mesaba needs higher time guys so someone can upgrade soon...lots of younger, lower-time guys who can't. cliff YIP" (From another thread)

Upgrades are going fairly consistent every month. Lots of FOs are letting themselves be bypassed on the upgrade because they dont want to be in long term training over the holidays, some are waiting a few more months for more saab captains to leave so they can look a a little better schedule and of course yes there are Saab FOs bypassed because they have less than ATP mins. (upgrades and hiring are likely to continue on into March - April.)
On a side note, Word is the company did not really like the results they got after bringing on a couple of the street captains about a year ago. Most of them have been great (ie. great attitudes, good pilots) however a very very select couple ive heard have been not so stellar.

According to my calculations, at least by March or April, May to mid June 07 hires should be able to hold CRJ9 CA seat either in MEM or DTW. This is based on things staying the way they are today. I suspect MEM will remain relatively junior.
With the new merged list between DAL and NWA out, it does not look good for the flowthrough to resume in 2009. That means little or no attrition at the top.

As far as the flow through goes, is the contract on a one year term? Who else would get the contract? How will that affect upgrade times? Will there still be alot of guys leaving? I'm still trying to make my decision whether to make a lateral move to mesaba or stick with my horrible QOL present company with quick upgrades.

I was scheduled for the -200 class on the 19th but I just got a call saying that this class was cancelled. Did anyone else get this call?
I was also told that I would likely get MEM until I could hold MSP. For those who are wanting MSP how long is it taking you to move back? Also, where can I find details on crash pads? For those that do have crashpads how do you travel to and from them? Did you bring your car down there? Any help is always appreciated.

Whether you should make a lateral move is entitrely up to you and no one can answer that question for you. Don't make you decision based on flowthru though because flowthru can disappear overnight. I really can't answer this one unless I have more information such as which airline are you currently with and how many years have you invested there, etc.
Whatever you decide to do, good luck with your decision. If you are going to make the lateral move though, don't wait till the last minute. You want to get in on the front wave of the hiring move, which is right now.
