How did you think the joint seniority list would have affected the flow? With or without the new list, new positions need to be created to start the flow again.

Does Mesaba give you a space available ticket get to the first day of ground school? How long does it take to be authorized to non-rev and jumpseat?

Yes, first day of groundschool is on the company's dollar. On the first day of class, your picture is taken for your company ID and you receive it as soon as they are printed later that day. You can then go on the company website and enter your passport information for CASS and you can start jumpseating and nonreving almost immediately.

Tinpusher thanks for the info. "On the company's dollar", does that mean space positive on the day before class starts or space available?

I believe they positive space you, or purchase a ticket for you. Either way, the only thing you are responsible for is showing up for the flight they have you booked on.

It took over a month for many that were in my new hire class to get their CASS processed. A call to crew scheduling took care of for some on the spot, other people that made they same call were told by crew scheduling that they had no idea how to complete the CASS verification.

I haven't checked lately, but don't get your hopes that the turnaround is almost immediate. For my class it was far from. We were still able to non-rev with no problems, jumpseating was just a problem. Good luck with training!

Thanx...I've already been through...Im a July 07 hire For us it was one of the few things that wasn't delayed. I would assume once again though that HR and training departments are swamped with newhires.

For those that have recently started ground school, how long before your start date did they send you your travel and hotel info? I start on Monday and haven't received anything yet and the first email I received said this info would be sent out 7-10 days prior to start date....

I just finished the interview today. So I overheard the sim evaluator speaking with another applicant, and he said "if Delta does any considerable cutbacks requiring the layoffs of junior Delta pilots, there is a 'flow back' in place to Mesaba and those Delta captains would go to the top of Mesaba seniority".

So those junior Delta pilots would then flow to Mesaba at the top of seniority pushing the new hires out the bottom. Is this true?

...also, remember you can still jumpseat on other airlines (even if you're not CASS approved yet). CASS is only used for the actual cockpit jumpseat. As such, you're pretty much free to go right away.
