Mesaba new hires
#5111
-900 hiring will continue through april, and saab hiring will continue until feb. 6 -200 captains will have their seat lock released on the next vacancy and this will be the last time this happens. ATL flying starts feb. 12 on the -900 and saab flying starts march 2nd with two airplanes. Memo came out yesterday. Hope this helps.

The XJ memo could very well be up in the crew rooms but hasn't made it onto mymesaba yet. Which is odd, because usually it happens the other way around.

Supposedly almost all the growth is going to MEM.

Do you think alot of MSP and DTW SF3 CA's will go to MEM to get on the 900? Or will it most likely be MEM SF3 CA's? The memo says only 6 MSP CRJ CA's will have their seatlocks released on the next vacancy to fill the new 900 slots.

If you look at the past awards, historically people do tend to favor their own base. But I guess it all depends on each person's wants.

Some Saab captains may move base to go to the jet but probably not many. Either way it is even less likely that guys already on the 900 will move bases so I'm probably stuck at the bottom here for years....

Im trying to do some mental number crunching figuring that guys outside of MEM probably won't go there even to get on the 900. Im wondering how junior it will wind up.

According to my calculations, at least by March or April, May to mid June 07 hires should be able to hold CRJ9 CA seat either in MEM or DTW. This is based on things staying the way they are today. I suspect MEM will remain relatively junior.
With the new merged list between DAL and NWA out, it does not look good for the flowthrough to resume in 2009. That means little or no attrition at the top.
