Alright this thread is back!
I've heard the rumor about hiring in Sept Oct from a lot of different places. Is that rumor realistic based on the expected attrition rate over that time period or something else?

It must be something else. Attrition shouldn't be much of a factor for about 3-4 years due to the new 65 rule. I don’t have enough experience with XJ yet to speculate what plans they have in mind if any. What I can tell you though is that there has been a general feeling amongst the more senior captains that I fly with that some plan for growth is in motion for XJ. For all of our sake I hope their premonitions are correct. With my experience so far (1yr) with XJ I believe it is a great company to work for. The pilots I fly with and the training department have all exceeded my expectations from the day I started. There is really a great family of people here. For those of you in the pool, hang in there, I hope to see you sooner than later.

I just got a call from one of my buddies that works at XJ. I talked to him about a lot of the rumors circulating in cyberspace about Mesaba. Pertaining to the new Saab routes, he is most definitely sure that there will be no classes for that, since the Saabs are over staffed. I do believe that has already been mentioned a lot in other threads.
He did however bring up the fact that something might be coming in the future. He doesn't know what, but he told me that if XJ was going to furlough they probably would have started by now. He's had that feeling from a lot of captains that he has flown with about something must be up. He also told me that NWA has the ability, or might have the ability on adding 20 to 30 900's in the future. Can anyone agree or disagree with that? Not really sure if NWA is held to the same restriction that DAL is to the 70 seaters.

The only rumors I listen to are the bad rumors....just as to not get dissapointed in the future should they become reality....sighs.
