One of the things that no one is talking about is that with the increased SAAB cities and flying how are we going to cover places that have reduced SAAB availability?

As one of the lowest 200 Capts I get Reserve Lines and RR 10 times a month. More often than not when scheduling calls or I call them for an early release, I am told that we are short of reserves. Most of the last week I was told that 8 of 13 reserves are being used. So I am not so sure just how overstaffed we really are. I have also asked the questions about the 80+ block hour lines. Maybe they will reduce them to 75 but I don't know.

Also most of the flights I get are either downgrades from the 900's or upgrades to SAAB's. Or broken 900's or SAAB's. So I see our 200's getting more flying than less.
... No one ever said the captain side on the 200 was overstaffed. Its the FO side. 25 lines of reserve.

I don't know but the post I responded to said:
200 CA 27 out of 84.

There wasn't mention of the FO side in the post.

I didn't look at ANY of the FO bid packs because.... well crap rolls down hill not up.... FO displacements wouldn't cause any captain displacements, the other way well we all know.... I can't say why the 200's are being used as you say because at least here in DTW we've been covering a lot of 200 upgraded flights here on the 900 because of broken 200's....
Course I went back to complete crap for a March schedule here while MEM has basically no reserves on the 900's...... so I guess it's back to not being home to avoid 10 ready reserves....

Broken 200's...
Yup, I know what you mean. Lately it seems like I fly with the POM in my lap most of the time. I wish I knew what was the issue.

I wish I could avoid 10 RR's a month. What really frys me is getting called at 12:45 for a 1pm flight.

I almost never get called when on RR and the rare occasion I do is for a trip that was already on my schedule for around 9 am when I go to check in at 5....

Ok someone explain to me why the 200 CA isn't included when it's obviously overstaffed and based on the March package the MEM 900 CA is understaffed.... Guess we are having blockhours cut not increased for spring. Next step is displacements and furloughs guys, start budgeting in case.....
Not saying they will happen, not wanting it to happen to anyone but the writing is on the wall....

I am sure part of this is the effect of sending most of the instructors back to the line, with most phantomed to 900 captain positions in the various bases though most MSP.

Aren't you just a ray of sunshine. Most of the guys who would face furlough have been furloughed once already from somewhere, lets hope it doesn't happen again to them at mesaba.
